  • Patrick Peterson on Sportcenter

He's on sportcenter all day today. Seems like a great kid who has his head on straight and stays out of trouble.

I've heard Nick Fairley is kind of a punk which is fine as long as he stays out of trouble off the field. To be honest I rather take Peterson im not sure why, maybe its just because CB seems more important to me than DT which I know it isnt true (only in madden) thoughts?

fairly hangs out with jamarcus fail. That's all you need to know about his motivation.

Ive said over and over again that my choice would be Peterson at the #2 spot. This draft is DEEEEEEP with defensive lineman. Draft Peterson at #2 and then stack up on the D Line with the rest of the picks.
      Denver Broncos
      New York Yankees
      New York Knicks
      Colorado Avalanche

I have said this for months, but any person that associates himself with JaBust Russell i wouldn't touch with a 100 ft pole... Especially at #2 overall.

I agree. I think that Peterson is the only "Real" top 5 draft choice in this draft. There is plenty of DL depth like you said that if we bypass any of the ESPN DL favorites and take the best player, which is P-Dub, then fill everything else in across the rest of the draft and F/A we'll be better off. All those "top 10" DL'men have serious ???? with them and you don't need any ???? when taking a guy that high in the draft.

Hi guys, Saints fan here. I've been hanging around here since you guys brought in our guy Dennis Allen, and ol' John Foxy.

Regarding Peterson, he would be a great pick up in the draft. The kid is a freak. At LSU he was known as the strongest player on the team. Dont know how much he squated but it was a lot from what I hear. He is super fast, he was fast at the combine, but his gametime speed is even better.

Some people say thats too early to take a CB. But he is sooooo much more than a CB. He is an all around football player. You can play the guy at L or R corner, Nickel or Dime, Free Safety or Strong Safety, You can blitz him, he can tackle very well and handled the run, he gets physical with receivers, he can return punts and kickoffs, he blocks kicks, he has a knack for finding the ball, on top of that he could play on offense too, but Les Miles didn't want to overuse him because of his importance to the defense and special teams.
This kid will allow you to be as creative as you want on defense. I know you guys need some help on the defensive front, but this draft is very deep and you can get real good players like Marvin Austin or maybe Muhammad Wilkerson in the 2nd round. You wont come across players like PP7 very often.

Im not a LSU homer, but a huge fan of great athleticism, and that is PP7. On top of all that, he is a great kid and was known as a leader at LSU, and never got into any kinds of trouble. He was all about football and is a great team guy.

            Just my 2 cents

Personally I'd be stoked if we nabbed this guy at #2. This draft is very deep at linemen. I agree with the guy who said Nab PP7 and then use the rest of our picks and stock up on linemen..

Also the way I see it. We are loaded with leadership.. but I get the feeling that the older guys are starting to sound like broken records. Champ and Bdawk you should think are enough.. but look at what Tebow did to our team.. Even the vets were stoked. If we had the energy that Tebow and PP could bring to the team on top of the veteran leadership? That can be some very special football right there.

                Welcome Saints fan.

It's always nice to get a perspective from outside our box and your participation is appreciated. Peterson sounds like somebody we want and need on our team.

No problem, it will be interesting to see where he lands. Even if you guys dont pick him, and go with a guy like Fairley, Dareus, or Bowers...those are still good picks, and could pan out to be GREAT picks down the line. But I just feel like PP is one of those players you don't come across often that can totally change the dynamic of your team, but John Fox knows what he is doing when it comes to building a defense. He will do what's right regardless.

From what I hear here most people are higher on darrius/fairley but in this thread all I see is P.Peterson. Im curious to see what some1 that wants Fairley has to say.
