  • Question for Cory about Texas

Well Cory, you guys got our offensive coordinator from last year, and I was wondering how the offense has looked. I haven't seen either of their games.

What's your overall impression? Have they been using some of the shifts that is Boise's trademark? I guess that would tell me how much control Mack Brown is really giving him. They shifting makes it really difficult for D's to know what's coming pre snap.

It's really difficult to say about the shifts. We're still figuring out our QB situation. We look like more of Z's BSU offensive playcalling and not really like the calls that go in for Moore. It's very very strange seeing the Longhorns using gadget plays and then going with the power ground game.

There were plenty of times where UCLA had no idea what we were throwing at them. Neither did I, actually. It's like they threw the gameplan from the first two games out of the window and then the coordinator really controlled the offense. So, in answer, they had not really let him get creative, but with the benching of Gilbert and McCoy starting (who has IT, just like his big brother) they let him open it up.

But, we're running the ball, and the QB's are playing well. I like the end-arounds and the pitch plays. It's refreshing.
Hopefullu McCoy really grows into the offense.

The motion is great because it makes the defense second guess. It forces them to think pre snap and instead of just read and react.

I'm really eager to get to see them play.

The looked like ass the first two weeks of the season, but Saturday against UCLA was impressive. Case McCoy >>>>>>>> Gilbert.
