The commissioners of the Mountain West Conference, Conference USA and the Big East Conference are planning to meet to discuss the possibility of forming a single football league, a commissioner source with knowledge of the meeting said.

The three conferences are considering creating a nationwide football superconference of 28 to 32 teams, with the goal of gaining an automatic Bowl Championship Series qualifying bid, according to multiple reports.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported the meeting would take place on Wednesday, and that Mountain West commissioner Craig Thompson and Conference USA commissioner Britton Banowsky would meet with Big East commissioner John Marinatto in New York.
    and so on...

          How about ...

... Big, Bigger, Biggest East as long as they keep BCS AQ status?

This is stupid...it's also the BCS' fault.

They might as well just have four 32-team conferences, with each having their own divisions based on location, within them. 4 AQs, tournament style playoffs for the conferences and then you can keep the bowls for the BCS afterwards.

              Everybody wins...

                thats where this is headed.

This will be the first of the 32 team conferences.

It's kind of silly that of the 120ish best teams, only a little over 1/3 of them have a chance at an AQ for the BCS...I do hope that changes.

This will not be the start of it though, as the 3 conferences never got around to their meeting...

Big East and WVU still weighing options as Missouri and Big 12 still weighs theirs.
