Isn't Mathieu also either a freshman or a sophomore? He is already getting this much hype at that young of an age. Wait till he is a Junior or a Senior if he stays that long. He will be sick.

true sophomore. i don't know if you have time, but if ANYBODY does, go to http://lesmiles.net/ and select "Player Spotlight" and look at Tyrann Mathieus videos. Also, under "New Videos," Tyrann Mathieu has 2 player of the week videos.

Plus, he leads the nation in takeaways and defensive touchdowns, but hell, he's all "hype"
It might just be the games I've seen then. But the only time I have seen him is when he is playing in the nickel.

he usually does, every time there's 5 DBs on the field Mathieu is the first to be kicked inside. I saw a play vs. Florida when he ran stride for stride down the sideline and came away with a pick, I'll see if I can find it.

          EDIT:
Andre Dubose was the receiver, I remember him as a recruit, he's a speedy receiver, but he's the second option on the team. It looks like he gave up a step to the receiver, but he was supposed to have safety help over the top. He was in phase the whole play, so I'll give him credit for that.

As far as Mathieu as a prospect for the Broncos, I definitely feel like the likelyhood is very good, in oppose to other team's chances. The only teams I would say would value him higher are New Orleans (hometown, and creative defensive coordinator that loves turnovers), Green Bay (replacement for Woodson, physically very different, but their play is very similar), and Philadelphia, who will be looking for a nickel corner moving forward after this season.

I'd say that the reason we want him is the same as New Orleans, we have a Defensive Coordinator and philosophy that values attacking the ball and creating turnovers. Elway values corners higher than any other defensive position, so it should run by him, and I know Dennis Allen wouldn't be able to get his hands on Mathieu.

Imagine if we drafted Claiborne/Kirkpatrick this year and Mathieu next. our pass D would be

            Moore - Carter

            Champ-Claiborne/Kirkpatrick- Mathieu

            Woodyard/DJ

            Doom- X - X- Von Miller

X being unresolved interior pass rushers, could be Ayers, Vickerson, Marcus Thomas.

Of course they didn't look good vs Bama, no one does, they have the best defense in college football.

LSU is really good, don't have great QB play, but good enough, they won't see a D like that unless they get a rematch in the NCAA title game.

I'm very willing to say that LSU's defense is a step ahead of Bama's, considering Bama was supposed to have a better offense and scored 6 points.

Bama missed 3 FG's, and should of won in regulation. LSU might have more playmakers on defense, and better depth overall. I don't know about a step ahead though.

I think many people said LSU had the better offense, would still love to see a rematch, need OU to beat OSU, and pray/hope the voters put Bama at 2.

we'd also need stanford to lose to oregon. I go to UH, so I hope OU loses again just so that we can jump them in the BCS rankings, cause we aren't going to jump a one loss OSU team. I also want the Ducks to lose to Stanford, so that we'd jump them too.

I still think he might be best moved to safety due to his size. He is a really physical guy and would excel in a zone scheme. I just don't think he has the speed to run with shifty guys or the size to cover big possession receivers. I'd like to see him get up to 200 pounds and move to free safety. I really like his ball skills as seen in that video.

There will be no rematch this year between Alabama & LSU. They are both members of the SEC West, which means LSU will represent the West in the SEC Championship and move on to the BCS Championship game. I think it's highly unlikely Alabama can get to the BCS Championship without winning the SEC. LSU does still have Arkansas on their schedule, but I don't think Arkansas can pull it off. But I do think Alabama is the 2nd best team in the country.

I don't know about that much weight, we never know how he'd hold it. I'd be perfectly content with him being about 185 coming in and maybe putting on 5-10 pounds from there. And If he moved to safety it would e strong safety, where he can be utilized to his skillsey more

                              This is just silly...

They beat the #3 team by 13, the #25 team by 13, the #16 team by 26, the #17 team by 30, the #20 team by 35, and the #2 team by 3.

Who in the world of college football has a resume that comes even close to that?
