Gosh! It's hard to imagine that the press took time to report what's happening with PSU instead of focusing on Tim Tebow's every move and mannerisms.

    But... back to the topic...

I think the law is being parsed. The incident was witnessed by James Calhoun, a janitor, and HE reported it to Paterno. Paterno then passed it up the ladder.

Isn't Paterno far enough up the ladder to report it to the Police? Yes he is!

If the criminal system doesn't hold Paterno responsible - the civil system surely will! Look for PSU to spend millions on settlements - like maybe 100 million!

      New York Yankees
      New York Knicks
      Colorado Avalanche

A chronological look at the case against former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, based on a grand jury report in Pennsylvania state court. Some key dates in Penn State football history are included. Sandusky has been charged with 40 cri

It's stunning to think that Pennslyvania could've had this all stopped back in 98. To think the authorities just let it go is a travesty. I was defending Joe Pa and now I'm a little back on the fence. However I will say in his defense that according to this time line nothing would've been done about it if he went straight to the police. I do however feel he should've definitely kicked Sandusky from the campus and made sure he never showed his face there again.

The superiors are then legally obligated to report to the authorities.

Cant remember where I heard that about the law, I think it was on Mike & Mike yesterday morning.

So while Paterno is morally wrong, he reported the incident to who he is required to and there did nothing criminal.

IMO, and Im sure it is with others opinions, I dont care who you are or what the law says; when you see or hear of an incident like that, you immediately report it to authorities.
He is LUCKY to just be going to Prison! I imagine some BAD things happen to guys like him while in there.

I just feel bad for the Husker fans who are going to the game tommorrow!

Very well likely there will be more incidents, especially if they lose the game!
          sigpicoh YEAH?

He is not lucky to be going to prison. Child molesters are more hated in prison than murders. Inmates consider any crime that hurts a child as the highest offense that someone can commit.

A friend of mine did alot of time in prison. The stuff Ive heard that inmates do to guys like Sandusky is exactly what Sandusky did to those boys.

Not half of what I suppose those boys parents want to do to him.

Well who are we to judge though right? They will get their due punishments.

IMO, no punishment is harsh enough. Because those kids lives have been ruined forever and they'll never have that innocence back. But me personally, I'd castrate the man and torture him for life. But that would solve nothing and only give small gratification.
