Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Are any other CU fans out there furious right now? 0-2 against CSU & Sacramento State? Are you kidding me? Is this what the new regime is selling us on in Embree's 2nd year? Looking at the schedule, I don't think there's any guarantee wins on the schedule after these two games.
I said it years ago when Bohn gave Hawkins an extension, when he had no business giving him one... Bohn needs to go.
It's not like anyone expected CU to be good this year, but that lost Saturday...I can imagine how the fans and students feel about that.
You're right. I didn't expect to be good by any stretch of the imagination but this is beyond pathetic. All I wanted to see is marginal improvement from last year. So far, I've seen regression against two bad teams.
The schedule gets ugly soon and it's going to be a LOONNNNNGGGGGG Season. I'm just glad the Broncos are starting.. I think I'll just work and do homework on Saturdays; Skip it altogether.
CU, nebraska, A&M, missery all looked like crap and lost.
A&M didn't look like crap. Just lost. Most people would argue they handled their first SEC game well. Sure they lost at home and the Gators are rebuilding but they were the higher ranked team.
There is a lot of frustration within the CU fanbase but I did e-mail the CU AD to keep his head up. Why? Coming from an OU family, it appears to me that CU is going through the same struggles that OU did in the 1990's especially when they went from being in the Big 8 to the Big 12 South Division. By leaving the Big 8 and going to the Big 12 South Division, the Sooners were trading games in cold weather locales for warmer weather locales in Texas and with warm weather locales, that meant facing faster defenses that neutralized option run teams at the time such as OU under John Blake. Then Bob Stoops came in and huddled a very different offense from what was traditionally run at OU at the time and OU returned to its winning ways. CU traded cold weather locales in the Big 12 North for warm weather locales in the Pac-12 South.
Coach Embree has already coached at UCLA in the past so he is familiar with the Pac-12 conference and he is finally running a no huddle attack on offense which I think is the right move at this point but I think CU needs needs to go to more of a shotgun based offense and maybe more of a spread offense at this point. That is why Jordan Webb was brought in from KU although he's losing the job to Connor Wood at this point.
There are still players on the CU roster that were recruited to play in the Big 12 not the Pac-12 and only time will clear out the Big 12 players from the CU roster for the players recruited to play in the Pac-12. That is why they are playing a lot of freshmen this year in addition to Dan Hawkins' poor recruiting classes.
CU should start turning things around in 2013 or 2014. I suspect a lot of people are overlooking the transition from the Big 12 North to the Pac-12 South. Had the Buffs and Utes gone to the Pac-12 North instead, the transition would have been quicker and that is why Nebraska's transition from the Big 12 North to the Big Ten is going more smoothly than CU and perhaps Mizzou's transition to the SEC.
CU fans are going to need patience in this case and firing Embree will only keep CU in the Pac-12 South basement for awhile.
I don't like the record, but it's due to years of bad decisions so I won't point the finger at Embree. I like that he's trying to build with freshman. The easy way out would be to eek out wins with vets and JC transfers, quick fixes that don't mean anything. By playing his guys we'll find out if he can recruit, can build a team. No smoke and mirrors, just building a team. I think this year is his starting point and if we don't see improvement year of year after this year then he's not the guy.

Uh while I agree with your assessment that it will take time. There is zero excuse for losing to Sacramento State.. None.
It's losses like that one that make me question why Bohn's job was spared in the Hawkins debacle, and if he really did hire the right guy.
I'll give Embree the benefit of the doubt for now, but there are very few schools where Bohn would still have a job after giving Hawkins an extension when he had a losing record and then things turning out the way they did. His judgement is questionable at best. However, I was excited about the Embree hire when it went down, so we'll see.

I hate Bohn. They better win against Fresno State, none of the rest of the schedule is winnable for this crap team.
In Embree's defense this team is very young and I think he's a decent coach. Bienemy is terrible imo. His playcalling is soooooooo predictable and there's nothing special with his gameplans.
I think we should keep Embree through his contract (next season) and see how it pans out but get rid of Bohn and Bienemy ASAP.
Another thing, I went to the Showdown and will probably go to a couple more games at Folsom this season. At the Showdown CU's student section was very quiet and sat down the whole game, very disappointing. CSU's student section had about 2/3 the fans that CU's did and they blew CU out of the water, they were loud the whole game and it was standing room only.

You are in for a rough day if you think Fresno will be a win.
