Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

i realize what you are saying and that one Alabama win alone is not what would win him the Heisman, its what has propelled him to be the front runner, which he is.
you have to realize that no pure defensive player has ever won it so its really no different than Manziel winning as a freshmen. ive never understood not giving it to a freshmen if he is the best player in football, same with a defensive player.
Te'o has better numbers than Woodson had including more TD's I believe.

I agree. It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth that Adrian Peterson was snubbed as a freshmen when he was clearly the best player that year (IMO).
As for defense, Te'o won't win it if Mathieu couldn't win it last year. Mathieu was even returning kicks and punts on top of playing defense while Te'o is strictly a defender. He would probably get my vote, though.
I wouldn't say that. He's a Golden Domer. Everyone's darlings.
Sorry about that. I forgot to delete that part as it was originally intended for my statement about freshmen winning the Heisman in this case Johnny Football. I just left it out altogether.

I'm probably not making my argument correctly.
I don't think Te'o should win it purely because Manziel is a freshman. I'm not one of those old crazy tradition guys.
I think it should be TE'o based on production for the only undefeated team and the fact that Manziel cost his team two games aside of the Bama game. I only meant he still has time to impress later but not to ignore that Te'o impressed me more.
Would I be surprised if Manziel wins? No. But it should be Te'o.

CW was also a kick returner and played some WR.
no pure defensive player has ever won the Heisman.
also, in CW's Heisman season he had 4 TD's, one on ST's and three rushing/receiving. on op of that he was a shut down corner with 8 int's
does Manti Te'o have any TD's? or did you mean int's?
don't get me wrong, i am not saying he doesn't deserve to win the Heisman, i am just saying that if he deserves it as a pure defensive player so does Manziel for being a freshmen.

fair enough,i personally don't have a problem with either one winning it.

I have a problem with Manziel winning it. Klein had 1 bad game.
If you're going to throw losing QB's back into the mix over Te'o then why not Klein? He was ahead of Manziel in the race all season and his team can win the Big 12 tomorrow with a win.
This is coming from a die hard SEC fan that if it stil goes to a QB I think it should be Klein not Manziel.
