The Option I was truly great. However, I am particularly fond of his Counter Sweep and Isolation series. Series-based football seems to be a lost art sometimes.

No one can do this now! Georgia Tech and Navy have a version of the Triple Option , but that Offense of Ozs could do it ALL. Option, power, counter sweep, pro set, I especially loved that they could pound you, pound you, lull you to sleep, ten runs in a row or more, then when the least expected it, a pass RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE of the field to the Tight End, who would be 10 yards open, remember Tracy Wistrom?

Don't forget Auburn and New Mexico.

I was a big fan of Nebraska's offense un Osborne. Loved watching it even though I wasn't specifically a Nebraska fan. That is the kind of series-based concept the Broncos need.

Joe Gibbs said they stole the Counter Sweep from Nebraska. Found it on a site called trojanfootballanalysis.com

CONGRATS! Mens and women B Ball teams in the Show! Interesting that Creighton and Nebraska could meet in the 2nd round. To do that though, NU will have to win their FIRST NCAA Tournement game. EVER. In HISTORY! They are OH-FER!!! They did win an NIT champ. Amazing for a school that has 5 Football champ. A Baseball champ, and titles in almost every other minor spoert, they have never won ONE DAMN GAME in the mens Basketball tourney!! Unbelieveable!!

Dr. Tom wrote in one of his many books that coaches from College and the NFL used to come pick his and his Assistant Coaches Brains from time to time.

It's something that Pelini and his crew should do, ESPECIALLY George Darlington, Bob Melton, and all the other Coaches that was with Tom for 20 to 30 years. They have forgotten more about winning college football the Husker way, then any one on this current staff will EVER know! Ron Brown is the last link on this staff I believe.

Nebraska should not have fired Frank Solich. :2cents:

Not only that, Solich and his Assistants knew how to recruit the kind of players who were always succsessfull within Nebraskas system, he was only with Os for 25 plus years, AND a Fullback for the team in the 60s, but they had a IDIOT for a Athletic Dictator Steve Peterson.

He won 9 games, IN A TRANSITION YEAR, in 98, at the end of 99, they were one of the best teams in the Nation, and only Texas found a way to beat them. In 2000 they were 10-2, and scored a record number of points in their Bowl game. In 01, all that kept them from their National Championship was an EPIC Meltdown at Colorado, they were beat before they played Miami. 2002 was a down year, and he was fired after a 9 win REGULAR season in 03! ONLY coach in HISTORY to be fired after winning a Big 12 Championship, playing for another one, playing in the Nat. Champ. game, and having the second highest winning % after Os. But I believe that loser Peterson wanted a Pro coach , well, he got his wish didn't he?!!? Nebraska is STILL digging themselves outta the hole Bill Callahan put them in.

Question is, how many more years will us spoiled Nebraska fans put up with hot headed Pelini? He better win a Big 10 Champ and at least PLAY in a BCS Bowl SOON!

I have a bad feeling about Pelini. IDK how much longer he will be at Nebraska. Do they still have that fantastic walk-on program? It used to produce starters, especially linemen.

never mind the firing of solich, Nebraska should have never hired Steve Peterson, who initiated that firing.
