SEC is overhyped.

I was disgusted with myself last night. I found myself rooting for Bama and it drove me nuts. I was like what the hell am I doing? But I couldn't sway my opionion.

Sometimes I find myself doing stupid stuff just to be right.

As in I wanted to be right just to prove the SEC is far superior
Wanted to be right that I said Bama would annihilate Oklahoma
Wanted to be right for my god aweful bowl pick em from this year.

Which is why I was like this is stupid. Why the hell am I rooting for Bama just to be right? I can't stand them. And I've always been willing to sacrafice SEC dominance and my opinion in the past to see them lose in misery.

I must be getting old and soft because I kept rooting internally for them to come back and prove me right. I was glad none of my friends were with me in person. Don't get me wrong though none of it was out loud vocal cheering.

Also part of it is my life long hatred of Oklahoma (which is longer than Bama hatred) due to growing up a Buffs fan in Big 8/12 country. I hate Bama more but that game I was thinking I hate games like these where I just wish the stadium would collapse. (not to kill innocent people but so I wouldn't have to root for either)

I also have an OU buddy from the military who is the most annoying bias fan ever. He walks around with an almanac of OU football so he can spout off to everyone how OU has a winning record against their school. And he always runs his mouth about how OU would dominate the SEC. I realyl didn't want him to be right last night. But OU usually never loses to the SEC not even Bama. Even during downtimes like this for them.

So that was my night. Really frustrating and I'm disgusted with myself this morning as I stated.

This ^^^ is priceless, I have these same feelings. If Auburn wins it's all good, it won't make me think that the SEC is way above the rest of the nation, it will just make me think Auburn is the best team in the nation. The more I think about the game, I'm thinking if Auburn starts running the ball like they can???? I don't know I could totally see Auburn controlling the clock & eventually wearing Florida St down & winning the game.... It's hard for me because for some reason I just don't like Florida St, I just don't.... I have nothing against Auburn aside from being in the SEC.

I disagree with this one, if Auburn wins it will be a huge statement for Auburn not the SEC.

Considering how last season went for them, huge for Auburn moving forward.

But if Auburn does pull it off, it's eight in a row for the SEC. As long as they keep the streak alive, it'll continue to be one of those things that they can point to as a conference.

He speaks the truth. With this supposed down year and a perceived huge underdog for the national title, if we win it will say a lot about the conference.

I'm preparing myself now to admit the gap is closing.

But if we win in a year we probably shouldn't I will probably run my mouth big time on Tuesday.

So I apologize ahead of time but it will really be devastating to the country if they can't snap the streak in what appears to be the easiest year to do it.
