He says it was conscentual sex. She says it was rape. Forensics says his DNA and the DNA of her boyfriend were both found in her underwear. There were also no signs of trauma on her body. Sounds like a classic case of he said she said to me with no hard evidence to support the charge, so the DA dropped the charges.
Who knows what the truth is but if she was truly raped, then I hope she gets justice eventually.”Those who would give up liberty for security, deserve neither.” Ben Franklin

How do I know she has a boyfriend? His DNA was present. What does having a boyfriend mean? Either one of two things happened.
1. She intentionally cheated on him with Jameis Winston.
2. Jameis Winston forced himself on her.
Seeing that the woman is already "off the market" I would assume #2 because Winston, at the time of the assault, was not a well-known individual and did not have a lot of money necessarily. That said, even if he had a lot of money that does not mean he did not rape her as evidenced by the Pittsburgh Rapist. Why would anyone cover up a rape?
Because that person is a football player and it effects a major football program. This is something we have seen before with Penn State where Child Rape was covered up not only by the coaching staff but also school officials.
I believe this rape happened and that the school and police are in collusion. The school is going to be in a major bowl game and not having Winston would hurt the team. So, the police intentionally waited to test the woman allowing the alcohol level in her body and the presence of any drugs to diminish. Thus covering up the fact that this happened. As somebody else has said, there is no monetary motivation for this. Further, it is disgusting that the only way anyone can get "justice" in this society for the crime of rape is money. Rapists need to be in PRISON. It just shows how corrupt the court system is when money is the only way one can get a conviction for rape.

Like I posted previously, I am a rape crisis advocate and what this case did was once again dissuade survivors of sexual assault from reporting.
False reporting of rape is rare, and when they do report it is the victim who is raped once again during the process due to high levels of victim-blaming, such as "she's doing it for money, she was drunk so it was OK, look at what she was wearing, she didn't say no loud enough, she went to his place," and a thousand other claims.
Every time we blame the victim, we provide a pass for the perpetrators and then wonder why we still live in a rape culture. Every time we blame the victim, we excuse and condone sexual assault. Every time we blame the victim, we are saying rape is inevitable and have bought into its expectation. Every time we blame the victim we are putting the prevention of rape on the shoulders of those who are raped rather than those who commit it. It just never changes and I don't know why I keep hoping for something different. Frustrated and disappointed once again.Adopted Bronco: DeMarcus Ware

- Jameis Winston still under fire for rape allegation -
"As a federal investigation into the handling of sexual assaults at Florida State is being conducted, the future of star quarterback Jameis Winston is in question. ...
... But a lawyer for the woman who said she was raped by Winston said Thursday that he was informed the school suspended its investigation, at least in part, because of Winston's unwillingness to cooperate. As a result, Baine Kerr, a high-profile Title IX attorney representing the woman, told USA TODAY Sports he wrote a letter to FSU earlier this month stating his objections to their investigation and calling for Winston to be charged under the school's code of conduct policy." ...

- A Star Player Accused, and a Flawed Rape Investigation -
(Includes evidence-collection timeline, 911 call, partial or full victim statement)
"... In his announcement, the prosecutor, William N. Meggs, acknowledged a number of shortcomings in the police investigation. In fact, an examination by The New York Times has found that there was virtually no investigation at all, either by the police or the university.
The police did not follow the obvious leads that would have quickly identified the suspect as well as witnesses, one of whom videotaped part of the sexual encounter. After the accuser identified Mr. Winston as her assailant, the police did not even attempt to interview him for nearly two weeks and never obtained his DNA." ...

- Katie Hnida: 'Horrified and not surprised' by Jameis Winston report -
"Katie Hnida had read all of the publicly available documentation of the rape accusation against Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston. So on Wednesday when she called up The NY Times detailed account of the investigation of that incident, and it appeared to not have been much of an investigation at all, well, she had seen that one before.
"It's a weird thing to be horrified and not surprised at the same time," she said in a phone interview on Wednesday." ...

*smh* Katie was treated similarly to Jameis' (reported) victim. Will people ever stop defending and excusing rapists, while victim blaming and shaming with every breath! *sigh*

- FSU, Tallahassee police dropped ball on rape case -
"It sure looks like Jameis Winston received preferential treatment from Florida State University and Tallahassee police, who failed to vigorously investigate the allegation that FSU's star quarterback raped a fellow student — until after he delivered a championship football season.
... Unfortunately, the lack of investigative diligence gives the appearance of a cover-up.
Where to begin with what went miserably awry?
Lost video evidence. Witnesses not chased down. The police file prematurely closed by a detective with close ties to university boosters.
The Times' exhaustive report reveals FSU and Tallahassee police failed in their duties — to the accuser, the accused and the larger community. They wasted months, broke investigative protocols and failed to go after evidence when it existed." ...

- Disciplinary hearing held for Darby, Casher in Winston rape case -
"Florida State University officials will hear from two witnesses and the accuser in the Jameis Winston rape case as part of a school disciplinary hearing.
Florida State defensive back Ronald Darby and defensive lineman Chris Casher, both expected to be in the rotation for the Seminoles defense in 2014, could face discipline for possible violations of the school's code of conduct. Baine P. Kerr, an attorney for the accuser, indicated to ESPN.com that Winston was expected to attend the hearing. ...
...According to FoxSports.com, Darby and Casher could face serious punishments for their role in the events of Dec. 7, 2012." ...

- Bianchi: Why was Jameis Winston suspiciously MIA from teammates' hearing? -
"The way the Tallahassee Police Department and Florida State University have handled the Jameis Winston sexual assault investigation keeps getting more and more suspicious.
The latest embarrassment came Tuesday when two of Winston's teammates -- Chris Casher and Ronald Darby -- faced a code of conduct hearing at the school after observing a sexual encounter between Winston and a woman who accused the Heisman Trophy winner of raping her.
The woman was present at the hearing, Casher and Darby were present at the hearing, but where was Winston... ?"
...Winston's attorney, Tim Jansen, told the Orlando Sentinel the Heisman Trophy winner was not notified by the school that he should attend Tuesday’s hearing as a witness.
Huh?
The attorney of the accuser thought he was going to be there. The attorney of the accused thought he was going to be there. The student conduct board thought he was going to be there. And, yet, we're supposed to believe that FSU didn't notify its most famous student that he was supposed to be there?" ...

- Brennan: FSU enabling Jameis Winston by ignoring off-field issues -
"Were Jameis Winston a fourth-string punter rather than a first-string quarterback, he almost certainly would have long since been kicked off the Florida State football team, probably for good.
Instead, the Heisman Trophy-winning problem child is being protected by his university and athletics department for the worst reason possible. ...
...If we've learned anything over the past six months in the ugly Winston saga in Tallahassee, it's that nothing — not an allegation of sexual assault, not failing to appear when you're expected to testify, not stealing crab legs from the local Publix — will stand between the so-called leaders of Florida State and their unending love of their winning football program.
And that goes for you too, Tallahassee police department, letting a sexual assault case sit dormant for nine months, just long enough for Winston to be well on his way to completing that magical Seminole football season." ...
