well, it's been 3 years and frost is on the hot seat a little bit but I don't think they are going to fire him, yet. I thought that coach frost would bring more discipline and that we would have an amazing offense. that has not happened yet and I don't have a lot of faith that it will.

we will see but if things don't start improving next year we have to question what he's doing and if he's the right guy. even though I don't know who the hell would want that job that's worth a damn anyway.

i just hope Luke brings a stud QB there and we get to see him in the nfl.

scott frost is loved around here, the only thing that husker fans would like to see more than frost is if tom osborne stepped into a time machine back in 1985 and came back to coach the huskers.

every single coach since TO that has been hired has split the husker fan base, some liked the hire's some didn't. really that goes for most fan bases and most coaching hires.

but with the scott frost hire, a tom osborne protege, it's unanimous. every fan, ex player, and alumni are absolutely geeked over the hire and literally everyone is saying he will get the full 7 years to figure it out.

hell, i heard grown men crying on the radio they were so happy with the frost hire. it sounds ridiculous but that's the love and passion fans have around here for the huskers and scott frost.

not to mention the fact that everybody knows he's going to have to recruit for the system he is trying to run, it's gonna take a few years to get going.

i personally believe he would really have to screw this up to get fired in the next 5 years.

That would be EPIC!!! You know something? Ohio State could go 8-0, win the Big 10 Champ., and go all the way lol. Would serve the SEC right! That what ya GET for not having a Commissioner who will cancel out of conference portion of the season and just has 8 games. Trump was wrong too. He didn't save the Big 10s season, it was SCOTT FROST and NEBRASKA! He was the ONLY Coach at first that fought against that BS and said the HELL with you! We'll go play whoever, then next year go back to the Big 12! I actually wish THEY WOULD!! At least we get to play OU the next 2 years.

good god...... 0-6 never in a million years would i ever think the huskers would be 0-6 in any season. they are young and i do see the offense getting really good in a year or two but that defense is horrendous. :brick:

Yes that was a crazy 1st half, a good 4-2 second half. Was in every game all year except two. NEXT year the schedule lines up really well. I think they return to the 9 wins at least next year.

Well, the EXPECTATIONS cannot be any LOWER! He is a Native Nebraskian. He is Husker for life, just like I am, or anyone BORN there. It will take him a few years, but he knows what it takes, he learned from the best after all!

i don't agree the expectations are low, they are extremely high. but at the same time, husker fans are very knowledgeable fans in general, everyone knows it's going to take time and i think they will be very patient with frost even if it doesn't start well.

But if they're willing to give him the time I think it will pay off. He's certainly better than Mike Riley, I've never understood anyone that hires him. He had a little success at Oregon State, but nothing major, and certainly nothing that should continue to get him high profile job offers.

I guess you've suffered under him twice, with both the Chargers and Huskers.

Mike Riley is and was so far OVER HIS HEAD as a Coach, it was so obvious. No, what really was confusing is Pelini was let go, and Solich was too, for being FAR MORE successful. But at a Program that was spoiled by winning multiple Championships it was just not quite good enough.

Frost is a good football coach, I'm just concerned he's not quite ready to be a Power 5 HC yet. And being the former player returning to a once great program, with high expectations, it seems like this could be a bad situation. But when someone offers 7 years $35 million you take it.

I hope I'm wrong and I hope he succeeds there, college football is better with a good Nebraska program.

Mike Riley had more success than he should have at Oregon State. I guess that's what was impressive about him

He had success in the CFL as well. His Oregon State success is a little bit of the chicken or the egg. did he set things up for Dennis Erickson or did Dennis Erickson set things up for Mike Riley 2.0?

During his first OSU stay they were below .500 both years, then he struggled in the NFL as a HC, and all of a sudden he was a candidate for UCLA and Alabama before ultimately settling on going back to OSU. Now to be fair he did have some good years at OSU, but nothing that said he was ready to lead Nebraska into being what they want to be.

Let me ask you this (since I believe you're a USC fan) he was rumoured to be considered for the USC job in 2012, would you have wanted him coaching USC?

At this point, I wonder if he'll ever get back into coaching at a College level? He's 64 and will be paid $120,000 per month until 2021, seems like a nice retirement parachute if he wanted to retire.
