He is a warrior! I wish Fields would've hit him on that interception play at the end. He was open, and had some room. 47 seconds left & a timeout. I'm not blaming the refs on this loss. I do think that was a catch, and fumble but we settled for too many field goals in the first half. I think LSU will win the title in a couple of weeks.

I disagree, I think the true difference was Ohio State's inability to play disciplined football. The targeting play was just a ridiculously selfish play to make. You have him dead to rights, no need to go helmet to helmet. That play flipped the game. Then you have the PI call where the DB was grabbing his arm the entire way down the field, and not just a quick grab, holding his hand type grab. And of course they stop Clemson deep in the Clemson end and they take a roughing the kicker call. I'm not ready to call that selfish, but when you're going to block a punt you should be taking an angle by the punter, not going directly to him, because too often that's what happens when you go right to him.
Obviously the scoop and score was a big play, but at least 2 of those 3 penalties completely changed the game tonight. Clemson didn't take those penalties. Championship teams don't take those penalties.
All I’m saying is on replay it’s really hard not to call it a catch, fumble and score. And the tv ref claiming you can’t watch that one in slow mow to decide and you an easily see no football move in full speed is the first time I’ve ever heard anyone at any level make that claim. We do slow mow relay challenges for a reason. So refs can see what they couldn’t see live. It was bang bang and as a non Ohio st fan I don’t take issue with the call. However putting my bias aside it’s hard not to think that was a fumble on replay.
That would’ve given Ohio st a 30-28 lead after the Clemson 94 yard drive (28 cuz then Clemson would have no reason to have gone for two). And they would be kicking an onside kick at 1:49 instead of kicking off.
It’s easy to point that that play as the difference in the game. Even if Ohio st made tons of other mistakes that also hurt them.
But I agree though 2 bad picks for a qb who almost threw non all year, a defense who fell flat after the first 25 minutes, several bad penalties, and an offense that also went stagnant after the first 25 minutes cost them.sigpic👍 2Comment

Meh. I don't know if he was trying to hit the guy in the helmet, but I don't think he was. Watching it live, it looked like Lawrence dipped into it. I'm not in his head though, so I dunno. When you watch it live, it happens so fast that there's just no way of knowing what the intent was. End of the day though, he lowered his head, and that's what ultimately burned him and the Buckeyes.
That call in the Oklahoma game though...yeah. That was definitely targeting.👍 1Comment
