Yes, you're right that they don't matter concerning who wins the Big 10. But after this week, you do have to re-consider who the best team might be.

After the pitiful offensive performance by Iowa, I can't consider them them good enough to win the Big 10. Michigan looked weak on both sides of the ball. Ohio State had a pretty good game against Texas, but I still think they should have won at home, and this loss showed some uncertainty at QB.

So right now, I think Purdue is the best team in the Big 10. And usually, the best team in the conference wins the conference.

Bump. Iowa, Michigan, and Ohio State all lost. So, is Purdue now the favorite?

I like Ohio State to win the Big 10, as they lost to the toughest opponent and put up the best fight. It's tough to rule out Purdue, though.

I'll eat my words concerning Iowa.

Wow, looks like Michigan's taking a huge lead. I really think some of you are overlooking Iowa, though. Maybe it's just because of Michigan's past and it's huge bandwagon. Michigan's not a perfect team, though. (For an example of a perfect team, see: University of Southern California.) Their defense scares me...in a bad way. Marlin Jackson and Ernest Shazor are gone. The Texas offense tore the defense apart. Gabe Watson gets hyped up, but he hasn't shown me much. Surely, all your hopes are not lying in Steve Breaston; it's only his first year starting.

Iowa's has the best QB in the Big 10. Solomon/Hinkel might not be as good as Holmes/Ginn and Avant/Breaston, but it's very close. Solomon and Hinkel are both very solid, and Solomon had 905 receiving yards last year. I also like the veteran o-line, LBs, and DBs. Playing Michigan at home is nice, though Ohio State at Columbus could ruin Iowa's national championship hopes.

    2. They play Ohio State at home.
Michigan will win the Big Ten because...that's what they do. They'll loose to ND, but beat Ohio State because...that's what they do.

anyway michigan is gonna to win and im not being a homer i mean they have 18 returning starters from offense and defense chad henne can only get better everybody should know that a WR akways steps for michigan whether it will be jason avant or steve breatson and the defense only lost a few key counter parts
I don't think it's too farfetched to say that that a top five recruiting class isn't gonna really have too much of an impact on THIS years record
