Yeah, it was close...but what got me ticked was that they waited a good 20 seconds before spotting the ball so that gameclock wouldn't run yet...still would of been 1 or 2 seconds to do something...but oh well, on to UW...

Yea, i was thinking the same thing...at least they would have gotten to try and block the punt since they would be kicking from their 1 yard line.

Nobody had THAT high of hopes, read all the previous threads about ND, we didn't expect them to go undefeated (not yet atleast) but they seriously could make some noise...They are still missing talent (speed) around the field...It is amazing to see what they are doing with the same team as last year, just wait until Weiss gets his players in there...

Im not talking about this board specifically. Im talking about nationally. Even ESPN the Magazine had a forum asking if ND could win the championship this year.

Ohh I gotcha...the hype was ridiculous..but watch out, ND is on its way back..

And easily.. My dad would always root for ND because they were a catholic school and i just picked it up when I was a kid...and a Buff fan, obviously, cuz I was born in here in the good ole state of Colorado..

No. Theyre not. The academic standards are too high and the scholarship restrictions have changed.

Notre Dame may have some good seasons but they'll never be what they used to be...

I don't think that it'll really stop them from recruiting...if you really think about it, it is "college" football which means these are student athlethes, most programs require students to maintain a B, at worst a C average to play on the team..what's wrong with Notre Dame requiring their students to succeed in school?

Well, ND has much higher entrance standards than most other D-I schools.

That is what people mean in terms of recruiting. No matter how ood an athlete is, or how bad he wants to go there, if h/she can't meet their minimum standards, he/she can't enroll.

All schools have this rule. ND just happens to make it harder than most other D-I schools (Stanford, Northwestern, and the Ivy League notwithstanding) because they don't have a seperate (lower) set of entrance standards for athletes.
