The people who will "demand" that he be fired are the same people who complain when public figures use double-speak and are less than candid about questions and issues. Don't they realize it's their P.C. attitudes and aggendas that make public figures afraid to take a stand or comment on anything even remotely controversial because they are afraid that what they say might get them in hot water? -
On the radio this morning they were talking about this and how people are selective about what they'll get upset about when it comes to stereotypes. Everyone was in an uproar about something that was said and that for the most part is true. Well how come black men/women don't get upset at the stereotype that all black men have large *****'s. I don't see anyone getting in a fuss about that one...even if it is still a negative stereotype.....and NOT TRUE.....

Generally speaking, people of West-African descent, on average, tend to be faster than most others due to biological differences (increased lung capacity, makeup of their muscle fibers to name a few), just as Asians tend to be smaller than most people, just as Kenyans tend to dominate in long distance events (they are terrible at sprinting), and just as whites tend to be better in weightlifting and power sports.
This is not a racial issue. It is a biological/genetic issue with which people tend to make a race issue based on (true) stereotypes.
I agree, this is not a racial issue, and if anyone should be offended by his comments, it should be the white man!
Once again, here is a white journalist tying to stir the pot and wanting others to jump on the racial bandwagon. I haven't heard one prominant african american stand up on any of the talk shows and claim racism or he should be fired.
This is ridiculous if you ask me and he is not going to lose his job over it. He got a written reprimand this morning and made a public apology today at a press conference.👍 1Leave a comment:

Here is a CNN chat transcript from 2000 with Jon Entine and Jesse Jackson discussing the matter.

anyways, i don't think he should be fired for this, and i don't think he will...he did in fact just speak the truth.
It's not as if he went around using racial slurs or anything.👍 1Leave a comment:

Yeah, he shouldn't get fired for speaking the truth, its funny how people still like to think that their isn't a race issue in sports, but folks there IS...Fischer isn't dumb, he's been for Air Force for how long? He knows that the real good teams get all or mostly all black players because they are more athletic.. check out the broncos D, John Lynch is the only white guy on the defense...
I'm just glad DeBerry brought it out, maybe people would stop being racists against blacks because they do represent our country in the Olympics..👍 1Leave a comment:

Air Force Academy football coach Fisher DeBerry immersed himself in a potential national controversy for the second time in a year when he attributed the success of Mountain West Conference newcomer Texas Christian University to a high number of African-American student-athletes.
Coming off a 48-10 loss Saturday to the Horned Frogs, DeBerry was quoted as saying at a Tuesday news conference: "It's very obvious to me the other day that the other team had a lot more Afro-American players than we did, and they
ran a lot faster than we did. It just seems to be that way, that Afro-American kids can run very, very well. That doesn't mean that Caucasian kids and other descents can't run, but it's very obvious to me they run extremely well.
"Their defense had 11 Afro-American kids on their team, and they were a very, very good defensive football team. That's exactly what I was talking about."
DeBerry mentioned Monday that the academy needed to recruit more minority athletes than its opponents.
AFA officials reacted to the comments with a statement Tuesday night released by academy spokesman Lt. Col. Laurent Fox: "The senior leadership of the academy is aware of media reports about coach DeBerry's comments on minority recruiting. We can not comment further until we have a chance to review all of the reports, the coach's actual statements and to speak with the coach personally."
DeBerry, 67, is the dean of MWC coaches in his 22nd year. The Falcons, 3-5, 2-4 in the MWC, are on the verge of a third consecutive season without a bowl game and once again losing the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy to Navy.
Last November, DeBerry put up a banner with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Competitor's Creed. Included were the words "I am a Christian first and last. ... I am a member of Team Jesus Christ."
At the time, the military academy was dealing with issues of religious intolerance. The banner was removed two days later.
Several Mountain West coaches attribute TCU's success to its talent-rich Texas recruiting base. No one has made race a factor.
Upcoming opponent Tom Craft of San Diego State University said during Tuesday's MWC teleconference: "I'm very impressed with their people up front, their skill athletes and team speed. I see why they are starting to run away with the conference title."
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

It's funny how people get all bent out of shape when a guy simply speaks the truth.
Ignorance in the name of Political Correctness is disturbing to me.
Do you think it's just COINCIDENCE that ALL of the starting RBs and CBs in the NFL are black? Don't people realize that blacks compromise 10% of the population, yet they contunue to DOMINATE these positions? If race didn't matter, shouldnt all positions in the NFL be 80% white, 10% black, and 10% hispanic?
CPs to the first person that can find me a picture of a white guy representing the USA in the olympics in the 100m dash.
It's so freaking OBVIOUS that there is a difference, but when somebody says it, there's a god damned witch hunt. These people are racists by claiming not to be racists if you ask me.
A big white guy that comes out of the draft and runs a 4.37 is considered to be a "freak" (Matt Jones), yet there's droves of black guys every year who run at least that fast and some of them don't even get drafted.
Unbelievable.Tags: None👍 1
