So much for the Pac-10 garnering respect. Cal last year, and now Oregon this year...

That was an exciting end though, no doubt.

DAMN, that Dennis Dixon guy is F-A-S-T! Whitehead looks like a solid prospect, but Demetrius Williams reminds me too much of Ashley Lelie. I didn't catch the whole game, but from that game and the few I saw when they played UW, he's basically a clone of the present-day Ashley Lelie. That's just the impression I got though...

I wouldn't be mad if we took him though in the 2-3 rounds.

Look out for Jonathan Stewart (Oregon's Freshman RB), I believe he was a top-recruit in the NW. Malcolm Kelly looked awfully good too...

How about Dusty Dvoracek blowing up the middle of Oregon's o-line all night? CJ Ah You in the QB's face. Clint Ingram's leaping interception to seal the win.

I'll hold my Peterson comments for another day, but asking an honest question without any strings or traps, do you believe that Bomar can be a championship-caliber QB?

I'd like to here the thoughts of a diehard OU fan on this subject, and mrsolo may be the best to give an honest answer to this.


P.S. Where did you guys find an edge rush? You haven't shown that pass rushing ability all season!

horrible call with 2 meanings. why the **** wouldn't you kick the easy field goal? you need one anyway and if you don't convert on 4th down, game is over. they didn't convert, game should have been over right then but refs wanted to prolong the game.
there seems to be a trend going........ BSU is down big, they drive down field, ruin an awesome comeback with an interception........... Oregon is down big, they drive down field, ruin an awesome comeback with an interception............. i hope this keeps happening. it's exciting. except i wanted both BSU and Oregon to win

Dual QBs stink. Dixon was doing just fine, and the first switch killed all moment Oregon may have created in the first quarter. The offensive gameplan and play calling is great for Oregon otherwise, but dual QBs will never work. As Colin Cowherd of ESPN radio always says, "No head coach wants dual head coaches, so why play two QBs..."

Oklahoma didn't look like an unranked team tonight, that's for sure. Their D was flyin around, and Adrian's just a flat out beast. Guhh, what I would do to get him in the Orange and Blue...HEY, that rhymes! Bomar looked solid, and Malcom Kelly looks like a stud.

Normally, I'd cheer on an athlete from Montana when he makes it as far as the Leafs have gone.

But there's the problem...they're the damn Leafs.

I'm glad to see Brady blow it tonight. He was a jerk in high school, just like his brother. So HAHAH, LEAFS! GREAT FALLS DON'T LIKE YOU EITHER!

As for my Sooners...I think this game was definitely good for the team. The offense is a very young group of guys, and I think that with how far Bomar and company have come compared to where they were earlier in the year, the Sooners will be headed back in the right direction next year. Not that this year was TERRIBLE...just not good by OU standards, hehe.

How can you say I give Dvoracek too much credit? I know you seem to do a lot of research on college football, so I respect your opinion. But Dusty has been in opponents backfields ALL YEAR LONG. He might not be on Ngata's level, but he's not that far behind. He's got nothing but praise from coaches all year long...other teams' coaches. His only hangup really is his foot speed, although he'll make good hustle plays because he doesn't give up.

As far as Bomar goes, yes, I think he can be a championship caliber QB. Why? Look at his progress and maturity from the beginning of the season to the end(minus the overexcited spike at the end of the game last night). He's definitely shown the ability to handle pressure, and he's showing more and more poise every time he steps on the field. His accuracy has improved about 100% from earlier in the year. Finally, he's just plain tough.

I'm very interested in your Peterson comments. I think he runs harder than any back I've seen in a while, but he's still too careless with the ball.

Oh yeah, about the pass rush. We had about 45 sacks coming into the game. That's not too bad. Thibadeaux had 9 coming in by himself, and CJ Ah You has been in the QB's face most of the season.

He did so much better than that horrible QB Dixon. he almost led them back and a few inches higher it would have been 6. I was so sorry for them to come back like that and fall, its jsut so much harder.

wow. and the trend continues with the minnesota game. you know what's even more odd? ALL the interceptions have been on terribly thrown balls, not good defensive plays

Against above average competition, you guys generated very little pass rush, just look at the TCU, UCLA and Texas games, especially UCLA, where the team looked as if it was constantly running into a brick wall. You guys piled up numbers against Nebraska, Kansas State and A&M, all three struggled to protect the quarterback consistently this year. Being OU fans, you should know that more is expected of the talent when it matters. I'll leave it at that.

As for your line next year, it should be okay at the tackle position, since those two freshman played extensively and looked pretty good in the middle of the season. Your inside will be the question to be answered in the spring.

As for Bomar, I just don't see the same big things from him. His decision making and leadership qualities aren't up to par with what should be expected of a big time programs QB. Oklahoma made their run last night when they took the ball out of his hands, turning it over to the running game. You just listen to interviews and watch how they handle him and you can see that the capacity to run the system on his own may not be there. He still has no internal clock, which every wise QB has, for sensing pressure and understanding outlets, and I'll chalk that up to inexperience for now. Still, I have not seen the progress you guys speak of, and I'm concerned that he won't be able to handle the pressure of running that team if things start slow again next year. Physical tools appear to be okay, but Josh Huepel may need to transplant his brain into Bomar's if he is to become the leader of OU next championship team.

You guys played great last night, but remember, you were two inches away (twice) from having questions abound about this team's capabilities to be good asked all off season. Two inches...
