Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Against above average competition, you guys generated very little pass rush, just look at the TCU, UCLA and Texas games, especially UCLA, where the team looked as if it was constantly running into a brick wall. You guys piled up numbers against Nebraska, Kansas State and A&M, all three struggled to protect the quarterback consistently this year. Being OU fans, you should know that more is expected of the talent when it matters. I'll leave it at that.
As for your line next year, it should be okay at the tackle position, since those two freshman played extensively and looked pretty good in the middle of the season. Your inside will be the question to be answered in the spring.
As for Bomar, I just don't see the same big things from him. His decision making and leadership qualities aren't up to par with what should be expected of a big time programs QB. Oklahoma made their run last night when they took the ball out of his hands, turning it over to the running game. You just listen to interviews and watch how they handle him and you can see that the capacity to run the system on his own may not be there. He still has no internal clock, which every wise QB has, for sensing pressure and understanding outlets, and I'll chalk that up to inexperience for now. Still, I have not seen the progress you guys speak of, and I'm concerned that he won't be able to handle the pressure of running that team if things start slow again next year. Physical tools appear to be okay, but Josh Huepel may need to transplant his brain into Bomar's if he is to become the leader of OU next championship team.
You guys played great last night, but remember, you were two inches away (twice) from having questions abound about this team's capabilities to be good asked all off season. Two inches...
Was Oregon NOT #6 BCS?
Were they NOT one of the highest scoring teams in the NCAA?
Did they NOT have one of the best pass D's in the NCAA?
How 'bout the cowgirls' bowl? How'd THEY look?
I think you're just unable to see any positives from OU.
That's fine.
But don't just make negative points out of positive outcomes.....
.....you sound like somebody else on the boards.

As a former season ticket holder, I can say several positives. Unlike someone else, I don't get hyper-defensive when someone speaks about "my team". Regardless, I'll be at Tulsa Law School within a year, so you can bag me about them too, since you assume I only speak on loyalties and allegiances to certain teams. You probably would expect me to start hating on the Cowboys then, actually.
I give little credence to what you have to say about the subject anyways. I have no strong ties to any team, but some of you can't take any criticism whatsover without getting defensive. If you weren't so close to the situation, you may understand what I try to convey in my comments.
Besides, puting me in MUG's company ain't half bad, when you consider the level of intelligence he brings to the board, without always having to give sarcastic remarks about every poster without arguing the subject, "like somebody else on the boards..."
I'm here to argue on topics of football, and don't intend to make anything personal, but if you are so "loyal" to a team that you take comments about them personal, you need to level off. I've had good relations with you on the board thus far, we don't need to get touchy over something this petty...

Ummmm....I wasn't relating the "somebody" to MUG.
And when was the last time you had anything POSITIVE to say about OU?
And why not answer my points?
Is NOT beating the #6, 1-loss team impressive enough for you?
I realize you don't put much credence into the bowl games, and that's fine.
But I happen to know that the players believe it's the time to shine for the entire country.
As well as for scouts.
It's the start of their jump into the next level, which is the main reason they're playing in the first place.
You're going to school to be a lawyer. They're going to school to be Professional Football Players. That's their dream.
For those that aren't good enough for that next level, they can always hang their hat on playing in a bowl game.

Yes, they were #6, they didn't have Clemens, but you still played a great team and got a great win. However, no they didn't have one of the best Passing D's, unless 71st is one of the best. All in all, you guys played great even after getting hosed on the fake FG, but the outcome might of been different if they had their starting QB, but hey, aren't good teams supposed to be able to play through injuries?
