I must admit I don't know too much about him but hopefully he can make CU into a legitimate perennial power like they should be, Barnett never seemed like he was in control of the team, in a few years hopefully his recruiting will pay off
that was a good move IMO to call McCartney--he had some great teams, i hope--PRAY, that the buffs go back to the success they had with the option, (eric bienemy (sp), salaam, darian hagan, stewart) they had big plays all the time
down with the huskersGo Broncos!
Go Avs!

I think that in order to recruit blue chippers on offense, for better or for worse, you have to run a pro style offense, which Hawkins does (well, he runs more of a spread).
All kids like to think they might have a chance at the NFL, and they want to go to place where they think will give them the best trainig for that. Option offenses don't do that for skill position players.
Everybody's gotta elevate from the norm...

I envy watching good option teams since I believe it is one of the most effective plays you can call at the college level.Go Broncos!

I think you have seen a huge change to a more "pro-style" game, really like what Jared said, showing off the skilled positions... I'm an old fashion (GB style) pounding the ball and PA over the top, but if Hawks new system works, I'm all for it!fight u dwn the fied..cu must win.. fight fight fr Victoy..cu knows no defet! so roll up the mighty score, Never Give in!!...shouler to shulder we will FIGHT..FIGHT ... FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!

Yeah, whatever works I am for it, I just miss the days when CU had QB's that could run and pass at will, ever since McCartney left it seems they have gone more with passing, I remember going to all the games in Boulder and every time hagan or stewart started the option the crowd knew that it was a chance for a big play---many times 80 yards for a TD! I remember watching nebraska dominate games--including in the national championship games with the option aloneGo Broncos!
