Haven't we been down this road before, jns?
The ONLY area they are questionable in, is their Oline....but with last year's frosh getting substantial playing time, plus the Juco's coming in this year, by the end of their 'preseason' games, they'll have gelled and will roll.
Bomar is the real deal. He had a tough start, being a frosh last year, but he made LARGE strides as the season progressed. And the receiving corp has two great soph's, who are in sync with bomar.....not to mention Jo at TE.....
Their D is being touted nation wide as a possible top 5.....I see them even better. Wildman was pretty good last year, but wait until you see what they have this year....only the top Dlinemen in the last two recruiting wars. Nobody will be able to run on them.
The only other area of concern is the secondary....but some realignments of coaching duties will hopefully pan out there.

I don't care if we have been down this road. I will start listening to you when you stop being a homer.

Anyways, I have my opinion on them and I already stated it. I watched a lot of their games last year because I love watching Adrien Peterson and I think he is one of the most exciting nfl prospects in a long time. I saw what they could and couldn't do and formed my opinion. You guys telling me different won't change my mind since my opinion didn't come from hearing about it.

Dude youre crazy!!!! The receivers are going to rock. Bomar is going to put up solid numbers and AD will run WILD over defenses.

As he stated in an earlier post, he doesn't think Bomar is good enough to get it to them. The Raiders had arguably the best WR core (I know it's pro, but w/e) look where that got them.

The Sooners better pray they are what they are predicted to be. You're dreaming if you think Peterson comes back for his SR. year.

that was the nfl. anyways adrian peterson in college is a better tailback than lamont jordan is in the nfl. so teams will try to stop the run a lot which will give bomar (who is improving alot) enough time to find receivers.

              again, though.

              The line has proven nothing.

all of the starters this year started at least 3 games last year, which still isnt a whole lot. but at least they have some starting experience. the only one that started every game was their left tackle, chris messner.

So now they only have 1 full time starter from last year back on the o-line? That is pretty sad and actually would make me have to say they are going almost nowhere this year considering that was their #1 problem last year. #2 would have to be the QB until he proves otherwise.

i'm sure MVP of the holiday bowl is not proving anything.

1 good game doesn't make a good QB.

I think watching the entire season makes for a much better judgment of a QB than a single good game they had....

when watching the season, you can see that he improved greatly over the last few games, which means he got better. So he is a better QB now than he was last year.

And now Bomar knows he is 1st string and there is no QB controversy. So he will get more reps in camp, especially with the 1st string.

Good for him, NE improved all around last season from start to finish. If you watched Zack Taylor he started just tearing defenses apart by the end. The biggest problem for them was young guys. Now they also have all the injured defense back including the 3 starting linebackers that where out last season. If your QB hasn't improved and the OU, o-line hasn't transformed into a completely new one then I just don't feel OU can be national champs. There are to many other good teams that are way more complete than OU and a good defense will stomp you guys. I think if they don't show a lot of improvement over last year, in those two areas spacifically, they will not even beat out NE for the big 12. Both Oaklahoma and Nebraska are lucky this year that they get a weakened conference though. I think all of the power houses in it just got a lot worse than a year ago other than these 2 teams. I do think that there are about 8 teams that are easily better than either though and my first reaction would be that ND is taking the national title this year.

I had a feeling that OU knew who they wanted to be QB...Bomar had so many chances that after 100 times spiking the ball to the ground and he was still the starter.. Thompson didn't even have a chance really, they tried to find every little excuse of why Paul shouldn't of been the QB, unfair IMO...

But he did get noticeably better towards the end of the year, he stopped throwing balls to the ground and started managing the game...The kid was wild, but he finally realized that all you have to do is hand off the ball to AD and he'll make you look better...

I think OU is a better team this year, Top 5 easily, but with teams like Notre Dame and Ohio State, I don't see OU playing in the National Championship...

I agree, Taylor was En Fuego last year, he seemed to turn it on in the second half and seemed like he never missed a wide open guy..I'll give him credit for that...

It is very hard to perdict records, especially in college football... If you told me last year that Texas is going to go undefeated with Oklahoma and Ohio State on the schedule, I would of told you that you're insane! But here goes my perdiction..

                              NU - 9-3
                              OU - 11-1

I would have to agree that it is almost impossible to predict records in college other than maybe someone like USC last season. I'm not even sure where to rate Nebraska. They showed a lot of promise at the end of last season and where also missing a lot of key guys that will be back now. They also have a very tough schedule this year. I think I will have to sit back and wait for them to start the season before I can judge what they will do with it. I just hope we beat OU so I can come back and talk some smack to all the sooner lovers here.
