  • Trojans vs Huskers

I just thought I would make a thread so we could discuss what people think of this game and maybe we can get some predictions on it if anyone here cares about this game. I think it is nationally aired this weekend. It should also be the best or close to the best game this comming weekend. Both teams have been looking great and I am looking forward to the game.

I personally think that Nebraska has a good shot at winning this. The only part of the team that isn't really good this year is the defensive secondary. Even there though it is just the experience level of the players, which will hurt though in the USC game.

Another thing is that if the Huskers can pull off this win, would people look at them as a top ranked team. USC got a lot more votes for top 3 this week and if Nebraska can take them down then the Huskers should be up to the top 15. It would also reallly help out USC to win this and possible move them to #2. I haven't seen the polls this week either so I don't know where exactly they are ranked as of now. On this show that was talking with a lot of the Husker coaches they where saying how they where getting votes to be one of the top teams after the first win they had.

I just looked up the polls and I guess USC is already looded at to be #1-5 by these 4 polls. I didn't know if they had moved up like that when I made my last post. If they beat Nebraska I think that will boost them to 1-2 in all the polls. I am not sure who some of the other top ranked teams play so they might cancel out USC beating Nebraska if they play good teams also.

There's no doubt it should be a hell of a game. I got all of my SC stuff out this week and I'm going to wear something new everyday.. for good luck, haha.

Wearing my Reggie Bush jersey to school today..

Anyway. I'll talk with anyone who is interested about this game later today. I'm out for school..

I think that this could be either a nailbiter or just an absolute blowout. I dont think there will be any grey area.

I think if USC is just flat out good enough to simply reload it will be devastating.

I wanna see how well Zac Taylor plays in the biggest game Nebraska has had on the road since like, I dont know...That Arizona State game in 96?

I hope it is a good game though, and I hope Nebraska pulls it out for the Big XII.

This will be the game to see where each of these two teams stand this season. It is at least the first true test to each of the teams. I can't wait to see how it goes this weekend. I really hope to see Nebraska pull this game off because this is probably their hardest competition of this season and is one of the 3 real hard games. If they can win this one then it could show that they are ready to be a good top 10 team again. It will also show what Callahan has been able to do for this ball club. Even a close game in which Nebraska loses could show that they have stepped it up to the next level. It will be very hard to win though at USC. It hasn't been done recently and @USC is a very tough place to play.

Also, I will add that I was just reading a fox sports article that stated, if Nebraska can take USC, they will jump into the top 3 in the nation. I don't know if they would give us that big of a jump in the poles but it would really be nice to see Nebraska back up there.

            Condoms win

            My prediction at least.

Won't provide a reason because I'm too lazy and I'm pretty much going with popularity

I'm a homer at heart, but this one REALLY looks tough.

If we keep Booty running with pressure, we have a shot.

I don't know about the offense. Hopefully Lucky can be a gamebreaker.
              Go Huskers.

I agree that our front 7 are going to have to step up this game for Nebraska to have a shot. The secondary is the only part of Nebraska that I have doubts about and that means it will be up to the front 7 to force mistakes from that offense. Luckily they have players without a lot of experience playing and that will give us that much better of a chance that they make the mistakes we need them to.

I don't really think the offense has anything to worry about though. We have 2 dominant backs, 1 young up and comming great back, and another consistent one. When you have Nebraska's depth at RB it is very easy to wear down the defense and still have a lot of fresh legs. Also, our passing game is great and should help keep USC's defense on their toes.

On Nebraska's part it will all come down to how much they can stop USC's offense. If the secondary starts getting killed and the front 7 isn't just straight dominanting the game then this will probably be an easy win for USC. I have no doubt though that our offense can match up very well against USC's defense.

Maybe I am just hoping a lot but it would be nice to see Nebraska back in the top 10.

Nebraska is a good team, but definsively, they dont have the athletes to match SCs offense... The children of the corn will keep it close but SC will pull away by 2 TDs... I cant stand Nebraska, but I will be rooting for them to win this game (scary eh) on the same coin, I wouldn't mind seeing them get blown out by 50+ (I dont see happening )...
fight u dwn the fied..cu must win.. fight fight fr Victoy..cu knows no defet! so roll up the mighty score, Never Give in!!...shouler to shulder we will FIGHT..FIGHT ... FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!

Oh no, we have the athletes on D. Our front 7 is arguably the best in the nation. Our secondary is talented, but not ebough to compensate for Dwayne Jarrett.

Just curious, besides us being your rivals, what can't you stand about us?

Besides you, I know A LOT of Huskers' fans' and all I hear is National Champ this, national champ that, when they haven't even been close except in 2001, and I wont say what happened in 2001 ...

I respect the tradition at Nebraska, but I dont like hearing it from every Husker fan I meet, the truth is, what have you done lately?

Ohh and back to the SC/Nebraska... the question is, will they be able to stop Washington, Moody, Gable...and IF they do that, can they cover Jarrett/Smith and the stud in the making, Turner...

I don't know much about the 'Huskers at all. Only the little I was able to see on Sportscenter at night.

So can one of you 'Husker fans fill me in on the strengths and weaknesses of your team?

To be honest, the only other Husker fans I know are my dad and a few random people..

I know we can control their running game, but the pass is suspect.
