If I were an OU fan, I would try to look on the positive side (I know it's hard after something like that).

Realistically, OU will have 3-4 losses this year. I don't see this game coming back to haunt them, unless they make it through the season with only that loss.

But damn...we were two points and some good playcalling away from winning the two games...

Nebraska didn't have a chance ... SC (just as I thought) were way more athletic but they were still pretty raw...as soon as SC gets into the flow of things, they're one of the top teams... NU hung around because they did have the in-game experience but not as much talent...

Sooners do have some games that they will struggle especially against Texas and Tech but if they DO win out and this game comes back to haunt them because of that one L in that column, then all he|| will break loose..
fight u dwn the fied..cu must win.. fight fight fr Victoy..cu knows no defet! so roll up the mighty score, Never Give in!!...shouler to shulder we will FIGHT..FIGHT ... FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!

Nebraska has almost as little of experience as SC. The only thing that I hated about that game was the coaching. Nebraska has made this huge stride into becomming a great passing team and then they don't even attempt to pass. They called so many run plays in a row at the beginning of the game and ended the first half with like 6 attempts. Some of those attempts where also just screens. It was kinda lame the way Nebraska tried to play it by just eating up the entire clock and hopeing to come out on top. I knew the secondary was going to be in question for Nebraska but I never thought that they would go from trying about 5 runs a game last season to trying to only run the ball again this game. It really made me kinda mad when I was watching it. USC is pretty good though and I have to say their o-line wasn't near the weakness, with 3 first year starters, that I thought it was going to be. Other than their o-line and Nebraska not passing the ball the rest of it went kinda how I saw it going.

By the way OU got so screwed. The onside kick and then the bull pass interference where such bad calls. Such a good day when you get OU screwed and taken down so the Big 12 is more open for Nebraska!

i'm an OU fan and i know that there were two bad calls at the end of the game.i think that if our defense would have played better we win the game.under three minutes in the game we are up by 13 points and lose.we were told about the "sence of entitlement"that alot of the players felt just because of the jersey they wear.now bob and his coaching staff have a difficult job ahead of them.up 13 points under 3:00 to go you can't let a lead like that be givin' away.also there is another part of the puzzle oregan played a very good game in the first qt and in late 4th qt.the ducks didn't stop playing they stopped us on two big 3rd down situations in the 4th qt.if you know football and you settle for fgs instead of tds you just might lose.ducks you guys played a very fine game.congrats to you.they beat us and thats about it.
elway going to save the broncos again.yes!

So basically you're saying that Callahan is a bad coach.

But OU still wouldn't have ever been in that situation if the onside kick was reversed.

That's what I'm saying...it wasn't even a "questionable" call, we like to talk about conclusive evidence or "Crystal Clear" to reverse that call and their was some clear evidence that OU got screwed...

Im waiting until tomorrow, see if the Pac-10 are tough enough to admit they were wrong...

Good news for you Sooner fans

OU president wants game voided, officials suspended

NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma president David Boren sent a letter to Big 12 Commissioner Kevin Weiberg on Monday, asking him to push for the Sooners' game against Oregon to be eliminated from the record books and have the Pac-10 officials involved in the game suspended for the remainder of the season.

Two plays were reviewed on Oregon's game-winning drive -- an onside kick that gave the Ducks possession and a pass interference call one play before the touchdown that gave them a 34-33 victory.

"To describe the lapses in accurate officiating at the Oklahoma-Oregon football game last Saturday as constituting an outrageous injustice is an understatement," Boren wrote in the letter dated Monday.

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops has said he believes an Oregon player interfered with Oklahoma's ability to recover the onside kick by illegally touching the ball and a Sooners player before the kick traveled 10 yards. He also believes the Sooners recovered the kick, as tailback Allen Patrick had possession at the end of the play.

Stoops has also said he believes Oklahoma defensive end C.J. Ah You tipped a pass by Dennis Dixon that resulted in a pass interference call. If the ball was indeed tipped, the pass interference call would have been negated.

Both plays were reviewed using instant replay Saturday, and Pacific 10 commissioner Tom Hansen said an announcement will be made Tuesday on whether the calls were correct.

Pacific 10 spokesman Jim Muldoon did not immediately return telephone calls for comment about Boren's letter.

Boren requested "an apology from the Pac-10 for the gross errors in officiating" and also called for the Pac-10 to change its rule that requires only Pac-10 officials be used for nonconference home games.

The letter also asks the Big 12 to place on the agendas of NCAA meetings and conference commissioners' meetings a discussion of how the review process should be implemented.

"It is truly sad and deeply disappointing that members of our football team should be deprived of the outcome of the game that they deserved because of an inexcusable breakdown in officiating," Boren wrote.

Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione said Sunday that the university would request a "comprehensive review of specific officiating decisions and use of instant replay" in the game.

The President of OU has better things to do.

Like improve his schools shameful graduation rate for African American athletes.

And it won't get the records changed.

It was a horrible call, but he sounds like a baby.

Everybody's gotta elevate from the norm...

The University of Oklahoma and their fans have one goal every year, its not to rebuild their program, or improve on offense, its to WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP...I think Sooner fans can agree, correct?

I know its early and OU probably is going to lose a couple more games, but the thing is that it puts a dent in their record... This isn't the NFL where one horrible call cost ONE game, you complain and then you forget about this game..this is college football, every game matters thats why he's complaining..

I'm glad he's taking some action, this game should be voided!!

And therein lies the problem. Academics for athletes is poor at OU.

While the school should be proud of it's winning athletic tradition, it should be ashamed that they call those young men and women student - athletes. From 1998 through 2001, the school's graduation rate was zero for basketball players who entered as freshmen on sports scholarships. The graduation rate for the football team during the same years was a dismal 26% even though athletes have six years to earn their degrees. This is not as bad as say, Arkansas or UNLV, which have worse rates for all students, and barely qualify as schools. But it's pretty bad.

As President, his worries should be more about how to get more research dollars, keep alumni giving up, improving the schools academic reputation, and insuring that the school, all in all, has a positive rep.

This makes him look childish. Let the AD handle athletic issues like this.

It was a bad call. But the AD should be allowed to do his job, within reason. Getting the President involved makes it look like the school puts an inordinate amount of priority on it's athletic programs. The paycheck was the same, win or lose, so the school still makes profit off the team.

However, no one is going to magically get rid of the loss from the records.

Hey, I envy that from the President... being involved in every aspect of the University... Yes the graduation rate for student-athletes may be horrible, but what can the President do about that? That is up to the student-athlete themselves to make the decision to graduate...

Im in college right now and their are students I meet one semester and never see them again, then finding out that they dropped out..is that the Presidents fault?

and I don't think Oklahoma needs any alumni support or anything, their Boosters are there, they fill up their stadium week in and week out, even against Mid Tennessee state, they'll have the stadium filled... I dont see anything wrong with that program...

BTW, Good News for Sooner fans...

I was listening to the Sportsbash on ESPN Radio and Eric Cilias (I don't spell his last name) was taking with some guy about that game. What the guest said was OU may have gotten hosed but its time to man up and move on.

Whatever happened to the OU isn't half as bad as them getting the head handed to them in the 12 Championship game three years ago and yet stil they got to play for the BCS National Championship.
