Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

But what if OU were to win every other game this season? Don't you think that call would have been a little more important?¿
Defintely... I told this scenario to VF303... What if Auburn and Ohio State go undefeated at 11-0 and OU wins out with a 10-1 record...who do you think would play for the NC? Since there's that 1 L in their column, its going to be Auburn and Ohio State...
not to say that if all 3 teams go 11-0 and OU gets the shaft, thats a different story but Im saying, which teams are undefeated and which one has one loss? Thats what It'll come down to...
Yes football isn't everything, winning isn't either ...but when something like this happens, it goes beyond a "bad call" this is robbery, and what makes it worse is that replay was involved!
fight u dwn the fied..cu must win.. fight fight fr Victoy..cu knows no defet! so roll up the mighty score, Never Give in!!...shouler to shulder we will FIGHT..FIGHT ... FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!

If OU goes 10-1, they should jump Auburn, because Auburn's schedule is a joke.

then all of this would be irrelevant, wouldn't it?

I guess no team should ever try to recover an onside kick if they have the lead. I mean if they aren't good enough to stop the other team again, they don't deserve to win, right?
That is some stupid logic. No team should have to win a game more than once. The logic that OU's D should have held them, or they should have made the kick is rediculous. OU already won the freaking game.
Everytime a team gets another chance the odds of them pulling the victory out increase. Obviously.
Bottom line is OU won and everyone saw it. Don't sit on some high horse and say OU should have won the game again if they were so good.
They beat Oregon in Oregon. That is pretty damn hard, now you want them to do it twice?
Please.
Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the game 60 minutes?
Even if OU gets the call, there is still the outside chance that they fumble the ball, or turn it over somehow.
So, saying they already won the game is stupid.
That was some poor clock management by OU after Reggie Smith got a beautiful return.
No offense 303, I respect you as a person and poster. You are one of the good CU fans
But, I think this is kinda ironic all this ranting coming from a fan of a team that was given a fifth down.
Did you watch that game? I watched that game on Classic and you honestly wouldn't even know that their were 2 3rd downs... They ran it on 1st down, spiked it on second, threw it short on 3rd down, spiked it, and had the 4th down... I knew it the "5th down" was coming but you honestly can't tell...
Back then, they didn't replay it and still give it to CU... thats the part that is frustrating...

Sure it is 60 minutes, but only about 1 minute was left and Oregon had no timeouts. The clock starts after the kickoff which is the stupidest new rule in the history of rules. So OU has to down the ball once or twice at the most. So you can say it wasn't technically over if you want, but we all know it was.
As for the clock management, yeah it could have been a little better. Here is part of the problem. After the kickoff was returned, the clock starts. So OU had to run the offense out. They probably should have spiked the ball to regroup. Hindsight is 20/20. It is a new rule this year and teams are adjusting.
If they throw the ball and complete it downfield. THey wouldn't have gotten to the line to spike the ball. Even though they ran a running play up the middle for no gain they still only managed to stop the clock with 1 sec.
In reailty had they completed a nice pass play downfield for 10 yards, they wouldn't have even gotten another play off.
Are you not troubled with the fact the refs awarded Oregon the ball when they never had it? I mean they never had the ball at all. That is the most troubling part of this and that is what smells like garbage. That isn't a mistake that is making something up.
No he isn't. He is not letting his AD do his job. And he sounds like a whiny priss. Man up and accept that bad stuff happens, and work to make sure it doesn't happen again. Act dignified.
And it was not meaningless to say, as other schools of similar size and athletic success do not have such a horrible rate. So it's either 1 of 3 things:
They recruit dumber athletes.
They are harder school than places like UCLA, Notre Dame, UVA, Penn State and others who major D-I football, since it is harder to graduate.
They just don't care.
I have nothing against OU, I am merely bringing this up to point out that while it was a horrible call, it should not be #1 on his plate. Clearly, he has other thinsg to worry aBOUT. It is just a football game. It's not like OU won't continue to have great teams year in and year out. It's not like this call affected the payout from the game.
This is poli talk if I ever saw it!
This is a college football forum, not whether or not a school graduates a high enough number of a race.
You should be ashamed of yourself, jared..... :nono:
(pretty good, huh?)
But on a serious note, regarding your 'dumber' label....
...please list the number of championships WON by the Cals/Stanfords/Vandys of the world.....

There was only 1:09 left and Oregon only had 2 timeouts, they should be able to execute the kneel down play three times without incident, then it is game over. THAT is why the three bad calls on one play clearly determined the outcome.
OU isn't winning out, I think they will probably lose to Fexas (isn't that fun living here ) and I think one other game will sneak up on them. The defense just hasn't been the same since Mike Stoops left.
As far as the politic talk, that is what Boren is doing, politicking for changes with the other presidents. After all, he was the governor and the a long-time US Senator and was rumoured a couple of time to run for US president. Politics is what he knows.
Yeah thats called a home/home series... the Big 12 travels east or west for non-conference games... maybe its the Pac-10 teams that refuse to travel east?
One horrible call DOES determine the outcome of the game, because you're not getting it...OU recovered the ball, Game IS over...how does that not determine the otucome of the game?
Yes OU should of stopped them, but it shouldn't of even come down to that... Im not even going to mention that BS PI call because that shouldn't of even happened... it should of been Paul Thompson taking 2 knees and Game Over!
Pac-10 should be asshamed of this win, its just as bad as Pittsburgh's Super Bowl win..
Arizona traveled to Baton Rouge, they got killed, but still they traveled.
Pac-10 teams refusing to travel east? Oregon State has traveled 11 times to the SEC. No SEC team has ever returned the flight to Corvallis.
Wazzu traveled to Auburn this year. Auburn flat out refused to travel to Wazzu. The big OOC games for Wazzu are played at Seahawks Stadium in Seattle. Like this past Saturday with Baylor.
USC returned to Arkansas and still beat the **** out of Arkansas like they did at the Coliseum one year ago.
Only Tennessee will return the favor to fly back to Berkeley. One out of three teams are returning to Pac-10 sites after they played at SEC sites.
What's OU gonna take off the records now...55-19 Orange Bowl defeat? It's one thing to complain, it's another thing to want to change the record books.

How does that have any relevance to this, whatsoever?
Please explain.
