  • Yes Ou Got Hosed But They Need To Move On

I was listening to the Mike & Mike In the Morning program and they were talking about how Stoops and OU officials are still focused on what happened last Saturday. I understand the Sooners they got hosed but its now Wednesday and Stoops still is talking about it. Regardless of how bad it was and I don't deny it was bad they do have game in three days.

Also on the same program they talked about how some OU fans have sent death threats to the replay offical, besides it being illegal its cowardly and tasteless. :nono:

No person should kill someone over a game, but those refs should be suspended for life because of how bad the calls were.

Put Cutler in. I cannot take much more of Plummer. I almost have a heart attack everytime he throws the ball. If he throws another INT, I swear I will kill him.

I don't think the refs should be suspended for life. Everyone makes mistakes.

No, because if they're fired, then someone from another coference could hire them. The refs could have controlled it, but they chose not to.

            Underlying problem there....

Refs or replay official had a chance to get it right and they didn't... I dont care if they had 1 angle or 17 angles, any one of them could of seen that Oregon did not recover the ball let alone go 10 yards...

Refs suspended for a year is sufficient...one game is a slap on the wrist, lifetime is too harsh...
fight u dwn the fied..cu must win.. fight fight fr Victoy..cu knows no defet! so roll up the mighty score, Never Give in!!...shouler to shulder we will FIGHT..FIGHT ... FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!

A conference that needs refs might. But the Pac-10 must like refs that cheat teams out of winning.

If you're implying that their intent was to cause OU to lose, the burden of proof is on you to prove that you know what they were thinking and none of us can do that.

Suspending some indefinitely is overkill to say the least. Second the could also resign and if the chose apply to be an offical with another Confernce guess what they could do it.

OU got jobbed, but there is no way in hell you could ever tell me that their haven't calls that have gone OU's way that ended costing an opponent a victory. In the end call for you and against you even out in the long run.

The point of this thread is eventhough that happened Stoops needs get himself and his team focused on the next game rather than stewing about it.

Um, that happens to almost every referee/umpire that makes a bad, blantet, important mistake.

Actually, unless I've missed something and I listen to OKC and Tulsa sports talk radio every day, Stoops has not said anything about it today. He only talked about it yesterday because Tuesday is the weekly press conference and his players asked him to speak out for them. I think its the sign of a good coach. He told his players not to speak about it. Players typically aren't as well "trained"-for lack of a better word- to speak without letting their emotions get the best of them.

It was one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. The illegal touching, blowing the ball dead and granting possession with absolutely NO CLUE where the ball was, and the less impactful pass interference/tipped pass call.

I think Stoops and the players are ready to move on. I feel sorry for Middle Tennessee.

On another note....did anyone catch Kirk Herbstreit's comments Saturday night? He actually said that Adrian Peterson "should" drop in the Heisman race because of the loss. "Should"??? He will in some voters' minds because nowadays your team just about has to be undefeated for you to win. But saying he "should" drop is absurd. He had 145 yards in the 4th quarter. He's 95% of the reason OU took over that game.
I'm Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die, I'll be Sooner dead.

Nebraska's new quarter with the Sooner Schooner running right over the state of Nebraska. A sign of things to come? =)

Stoops said on TUES. that it was the last he would say about it during his press conference. He is done with it and I think the rest of Sooner Nation should be as well. Nothing can change what happened or make it any better except for strapping on the pads and laying the wood to someone this weekend.

HHAHAHAH...what a joke !! I don't care if OU loses the rest of their games, AD is still the BEST PLAYER IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL... Tell me, who are you going to put ahead of him? Brady Quinn? Ted Gin(maybe)? Marshawn Lynch? NONE...I'd take AD over any one of those guys any day..

If he stays healthy he's going to put up huge numbers for him to win the Heisman...
