  • Texas & Oklahoma History 101

For those who claim that OU owns TX, even after their loss this weekend, here is a little history for you.

See I have heard this argument in the last five years that OU owns TX. Well that might be over the last five years, but do you know who owns the overall series.

Texas owns OU by a large margin in the overall series.
    1900-2006
    W-57, L-39,T-5

True TX and OU fans don't beef about who dominated in the past, its all about who wins that current year. Because we know that each decaded the tide will shift.

If you are interested in who dominated which era, you can check it out here:

For those OU bandwagon fans, who have only been fans during the last few years, you need to do your homework before making the claim that OU dominates TX.

And for all other Big 12 rivals who want to know how you fare against the Longhorn over the years, here you go.

Yeh, CU is always tough for the Longhorns. Just think, they were all tied up until last season. Give CU a couple of seasons and they will be back!

Baylor wasn't always bad in the early years of football. These two have been playing since 1901.

Baylor has not always been a doormat, and they are improving a little every year. TDMiller, you're gonna hear it from me first. We were just beat by a better team. I have never said that after a loss to Texas, which is really humbling for me.

I think McCoy is a real good QB, I just hope he doesn't become Peter Gardere against us. Those were not good memories.

I am sure Texas will win out, with a nice bowl game in their sights.

I was certain we would win out until after the game. We could be in some trouble.

I'm proud of your research. I think the overall opinion was that Bob Stoops "owned"-past tense- Mack Brown, hence OU owning Texas. Then next few years will tell whether the last two games were luck - OU losing a ton of players after the 04 season and the Bomar situation this year.

OU does own the advantage in national championships though.

Nebraska's new quarter with the Sooner Schooner running right over the state of Nebraska. A sign of things to come? =)

Now I know what those Texas fans felt like when I made fun of them while we were leaving the cotton bowl from 2000-03.
