    BRING IN A PLAYOFF SYSTEM!!!!!!
Seems to be what everyone was saying last year about WVU, when they faced a 'superior' Georgia team in the sugar bowl.
Of course, WVU was up 28-0 after 16 minutes of football.

thats comparing apples to oranges...comparing west virginia vs geaorgia is not a good way of comparing rutgers vs osu/mich...georgia had big weaknesses against the run and wvu is a running team as seen by slaton's 200+ yard performance. rutgers is also a run team, HOWEVER michigan boasts one of the best run defenses in the country and ohio state has shut down everyone that they have played against....let me remind you again who this "great" rutgers team has played against so far

          Date Opponent
          Sep 2 @North Carolina Won 21-16
          Sep 9 Illinois Won 33-0
          Sep 16 Ohio Won 24-7
          Sep 23 Howard Won 56-7
          Sep 29 @South Florida Won 22-20
          Oct 14 @Navy Won 34-0
          Oct 21 @Pittsburgh Won 20-10
          Oct 29 Connecticut Won 24-13
          Nov 9 Louisville Won 28-25
          Nov 18 @Cincinnati 7:45pm
          Nov 25 Syracuse TBA
          Dec 2 @West Virginia TBA

so they have played a bunch of no name teams and the only decent win they have was against louisvill minus michael bush IN RUTGERS

Ok, and Ohio State has played exactly 3 teams with a winning record...who cares if Rutgers has played no-names or big names? Isn't your opponents current record more important than what they've done in the past?
They've had 1 common opponent..OSU won their game against Illinios 17-10...Rutgers beat Illinois 33-0.
Ohio State has beat 1 team that is currently in the top 25.

I'm not saying rutgers could beat OSU or Michigan, but it's a lil crazy when people give them no chance against a team like WVU.

And speaking of apples and oranges, comparing BSU to Rutgers..comparing the Big East with the WAC is talking apples and oranges.

              Hindsight is always 20/20.
Georgia was basically playing a home game as the Sugar Bowl was in Atlanta, was ranked higher, and was favored by a touchdown.

they were ranked higher due to strength of schedule though. and im sure the fact that they were in their own backyard was a significant reason why they were a touchdown favourite over wvu...like the steelers vs the broncs this year..home field=favoured...nonetheless, both of those teams were much better than rutgers is this year and both of the teams proved that they deserved to be there, rutgers has proved that they can beat ncaa bottom feeders and take advantage of a team not having the best running back in the nation behind adrian peterson

How exactly did WVU prove they belonged in the sugar bowl last year, but rutgers hasn't proved anything this year?
05 wvu played 1 top ten team...#3 va tech, and they lost 34-17.
06 RU played 1 top ten team.....#3 louisville, and they won.

Otherwise, they essentially had the same schedule.

VA tech had a compltetly healthy team had last year, louisville was missing one of the most explosive running back in the country and lets not forget the nature of rutger's win either, a COMEBACK win at HOME....doesnt really prove anything to me until they go down to west virginia....oh and their 2 point squeker win against south florida didnt exactly sell me on them being an "elite" team

But Ohio States 7 point victory over a lousy illinois team does?
And what's your point about va. tech being healthy last year? WVU didn't win the game!!! they got doubled up!!!
This 'unhealthy' Louisville team you speak of has been running over opponents all year, with or without Bush, and that includes beating WVU.

you compared va tech beating wvu last year to rutgers beating louisville...you cant compare the 2 because in one game both teams were healthy, in the other game one team was missing their best player...it doesnt matter if theyve beat teams without him, the fact is that hes their best player and not having him hinders their performance greatly...its like the broncs beating the chargers without LT, is the victory that impressive now that we take away their best player? NO. the fact is that rutgers has been aweful on the road this year, check out the games (minus the navy game) to see my point, and they havent played a decent team yet on the road, that is unless you call pittsburgh decent
