No I think they resigned him since he made up his decision to go baseball fulltime.

Yes i know, most of them are healthier than football players when they retire, but ive read the AZ republic here on former d-backs, and they said there bones were aching after years of playing ball. And im not including pitchers, sterioid users.

With a benefit to Samardzija though, he'll only actually be playing, what, once a week?

I'm not a baseball fan at all and don't understand the pitching schedule, but don't starting pitchers rotate on like a 4-5 game schedule, or something like that?

I also do know, that a #3 pitcher gets payed like a franchise Qb in the NFL. That's huge in the world of business, which professional sports are to professional athletes.

Steroids themselves don't make your bones hurt, they help your body recover faster, which means roid users can workout more frequently, which in turn cause overuse with the joints that are being overworked.

The muscles recover, but the joints/cartilage/ligaments, everything associated with helping the muscles work, do not.

This is not an argument over steroids.

Besides I gaurantee Jeff will never use steroids in his baseball career.

ahah ya youre right, i dont know anything about steroids .....SOME steroids are bad on joints, winstrol for example, but none are bad for your bones, thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard. i suggest that rather than spewing out garbage about something that you have no idea about that maybe you should research the topic...and that doesnt mean hitting the google button.

i guess javon's knee is bad is because of steroids to

why are you calling samarzja stupid for goign with baseball? baseball players get paid WAY better than football players. and their chance for injury is much smaller. their careers can be way longer. look at roger clemens, he is still one of the best pitchers in baseball and he's in his late 40s or something. if i had to choose between playing baseball professionally or football professionally, i would choose baseball. and i hate baseball!

the only thing im really concerned about is the fact that the Cubs have a.........history? with pitchers and such. Mark Prior and Kerry Wood come instantly to my mind. Pitchers really dont last all that long these days

This is absolutely a good move on his part.
I would have loved seeing him go to the NFL, because there's nothing I like more than ND players making it big in the football league, but the money is guarenteed in baseball and I don't think I need to explain the physical aspect of it to anybody.
