It was pretty good, the highlight is 5 star OT Ryan Miller from Columbine High School committing: http://rivals100.rivals.com/viewpros...Sport=1&SR=TSN

I heard we may have a commitment from a top 5 running back. is there any truth to this?

I know Ryan Miller is a 5star, but damn he looks slow. It's probably just me.

This class is supposed to be pretty good, relative to the previous ones. And I'm more pumped about Hawkins then ever.

          I wasn't a big Dan Hawkins fan til "The Rant". That was beautiful...Now he's a life'er!

The Buffs don't have a commitment from him yet. I think you may be hearing about Darrell Scott RB from southern California. Rivals.com has him ranked as the number 2 overall prospect in the 2008 class. His uncle and close friend, Josh Smith commited to CU in the 2007 class and so Colorado seems to have a chance at landing him. It will be a while until we know though, he won't make his decision known until signing day. Colorado really has to compete with the big boys to get his signature so anything worse than a .500 season and I think they have no chance at landing him... anything better than that..... maybe.

He is actually pretty fast. He caught one of the fastest RB's in the state in the championship game and saved a touchdown.

Buffs also landed a verbal commitment from a 5 star JUCO WR:

They are also one of many teams in the running for 5 star RB Darrell Scott as previously mentioned.

Wow, that is really good news... that Hawk sure can recruit...

A lot of people are saying that Peterson from Boise State was the mastermind behind the success of the Broncos... although I think he's a good coach, Hawk can sure motivate his players, Too soon to say that the Buffs are back after a 2-10 season, but they are heading the right direction, proven by the recruits they're getting..

I went to chatfield and so i saw Ryan Miller close up. He really isnt that good right now but he has the body to be good. hes 6'8 and 275 lbs. The thing about him is that he doesnt have that mean streak that you need in a O-lineman. I saw him miss numerous blocks against our not so stellar team. It looked like he would just chip the D-lineman and then get to the 2nd level too early where i often saw him miss blocks. I am going to CU next year so I hope Im wrong and he really is good but I dont see it.

O-line is probably the hardest to see their talent because if they are big enough they can easily dominate without good form

Joe Thomas was a 1 star prospect out of high school, he then became #3 overall pick in this last draft.

I go to Pomona, and I play on the football team and one of my best friends went up against Ryan Miller and he thinks differently. He is really good, and he wouldn't have gotten offers from every school if he wasn't that good. Coaches look at more than just size when they recruit somebody. Sure size is important, but they also look at a lot of game film and he must have shown something he got offers from every big name school you can think of.

Yes, that is true, but does Marcus Houston ring a bell? Being highly recruited doesn't mean anything unless you can do it on the playing field..

Im usually not a fan of ONE offensive of linemen, because truth is, its an offensive LINE, it takes 5 guys working together to make a great line... Sure the Broncos had great linemans come in and out, but they plug and chug all the time and generate 1k yard rushers like no other..

Yep, Corey Surrency. They are going to have a heck of a fight to keep him committed though. I really hope they can keep him.

No doubt about that. Fortunately O-line (on paper) was the strength of CU's 2007 recruiting class. In addition to Ryan Miller, they landed some other potential impact linemen such as Sione Tau, Ethan Adkins, Blake Behrens, Matt Bahr, and Shawn Daniels. As weak as CU's depth is right now, some of these guys will have to see the field THIS year. Hopefully, like you said, they can come together.
