  • Best High School Football Teams

I heard that Florida has the best high school football teams. I was aware that Texas got all the hype for that. Apparently football is the sport down there and their players train very hard to prepare for it. So any truth to this?
Rest in peace Darrent Williams and Damien Nash. I will never let your memories die. You will never be forgotten.

John Lynch is one of the best safeties in the NFL so don't even say he needs to be replaced. He hasn't been to eight Pro Bowls cause he isn't very good. So for those of you who doubt him, stay out of CO...

I'd say texas, california, and florida are probably the biggest programs.

Pennslyvania and New Jersey are probably somewhere next on that list.

Florida, California and Texas are the homes to alot of the better programs. You can tell alot by how much talent comes out of these states and into D1 football.

BTW, on September 15, 2007, the 6A Florida state champs (Miami Northwestern) will take on the 5A Texas state champs (Southlake Carroll) on a nationally televised game. Both are thought to be contenders for the national title.

I would place Ohio ahead of New Jersey. Maybe ahead of Pennsylvania...it's about a draw.

I would go with Florida, Texas, and Cali in the top group with Ohio and PA not too far behind and then the next groups. Those 5 states I listed are teh only ones that really stand out to me in their HS programs and future success in D1 and NFL.

Wow, what a game that will be. Southlake Carroll is the #1 team in the nation after last season. I will definitly try to watch that game.

De La Salle in Concord, California. It is by far the best.

I agree and I am placing both of my kids there when they go to high school.

It is always going to be up and down but are always consistant... I think they still have the same coach from 30 somthing years ago

DJ was sick when he was the running back there.

He used to just run over everyone... Including a buddy of mine at work who was the MLB at San Ramon... I played at Folsom and was in sacramento those years.

But live back in the bayarea and have to say it is also one of the best private schools educational wise.

Oh, I know it is still a great program, but currently they are not the best team in the nation. The best team in the nation is Southlake Carroll. But De La Salle is a sick team to watch, and so many good football players have come from there.

I lived in the Concord area for five years and they do a lot of recruiting from other schools. They are a private school and recruit the best players from the area, which makes their competition weak. It's like watching an all-star team. Not knocking their coach because he is a good coach, but I have to wonder what their program would be like if they were not a private school that recruited.
