  • Arrested College Players.....what is going on?

Is getting arrested a prerequesite for playing college ball now?

A look at the numerous amount of players getting arrested before the 2007 season has even began.

    1. Alabama - CB Simeon Castille - disorderly conduct charge.
    2. West Virginia - CB Ellis Lankster and LB J.T. Thomas - transferring and receiving stolen property.
    3. Michigan - TE Carson Butler attacking a student on St. Patrick's Day.
DB Christian Richards - assault and sentenced to six months' probation.
    4. Penn State - S Anthony Scirrotto - off-campus fight and harassment.
    5. Notre Dame - Jimmy Clausen - transporting alcohol as a minor.
    6. Kansas State - TE Rashaad Norwood - domestic battery.
    7. Iowa - WR Dominique Douglas - unauthorized use of a credit card.
    8. LSU - QB Perrilloux - using a fake ID to enter a casino and gamble.
    9. Boston College - OT Gosder Cherilus & DB DeJuan Tribble - assault and battery.
    10. UTEP - WR Tufick Shadrawy & LB Brian Wilkins - accused of assault.

Not hard to understand why the NFL has so many problems, is it?

If I missed anyone, feel free to add them to the list.

Jimmy Clausen's is the only one that doesn't sound too bad at all. I know its bad but still if you go to college your bound to drink.

I think your missing the point, underage drinking is breaking the law. At what point will he learn that there are concequences to your actions? It starts off with just a drink, then a couple of drinks after a big win, then girls and vehicles are involved. Once again, at what point?

I know it's bad but I'm saying Clausen's arrest is the less severe compared to what the others say.

I'm not saying it's ok in any way.
