  • Best Thurs Night Performance

Not that many care and many will say what's the big deal, how is Brian Brohm throwing 375 yrds and 5td against a Murray St team a big deal. I would expect a team like Louisville against a low tier team like Murray St.

Where as LSU had 6 ints and shut out against an SEC opponent, granted MSU is not a top tier team in the SEC, but it's rare for any SEC team to be shut out. MSU would run circles around Murray or Weber St. LSU's offense took awhile to warm up and hopefully they fix that because VT won't be so kind.

My question is why should any elite college team get recognition when they blow out these low tier colleges. I think it would be expected and viewers and fans expect nothing less. But most of the nation thinks Louisville dominating a team like Murray St is the best of the night.

I watched most of the LSU-MSU game and LSU's defense is just plain nasty. They get my vote for best performance of the night, even though Henig is a bad QB. Flynn is a good scrambler but not the passer Russell was; not even close. And the LSU O-line was pretty leaky, especially early on. I love LSU's defense, but will their offense be able to move the ball on other stout defenses like those of Virginia Tech, Florida, etc.?

The Virginia Tech/LSU game will be a defensive slug-fest, I can't wait for that one.

I agree with you Max power... LSU D's is probably the best D in the nation, they swarm to the ball and dont miss many assignments... But that offense I dont see competing against quality defenses... Any time you have Hester as your featured back, you should be worried going against fast Ds such as Florida or Auburn, good luck running against those Ds with a slow back...

I was not really impressed with LSU offense, but defense wins championships however, LSU is NOT going to go undefeated, thats my call...

Boise and Louisville both played crappy teams, not really impressive, they both did what they should of done to those teams...
fight u dwn the fied..cu must win.. fight fight fr Victoy..cu knows no defet! so roll up the mighty score, Never Give in!!...shouler to shulder we will FIGHT..FIGHT ... FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!

It is expected, but 73 points and scoring drives of just 1 and 2 plays is just sick against anybody. I really don't get why people ge tso down on games like that. Yes UL, BSU, etc.. are going to blow those teams out but it is a chance for that other school at least to play a big time school. You never know what could happen but just giving those kids a chance to play with the big schools is what it is all about.

Michigan is playing the Divsion 2 champs tomorrow. It is Appalachin States shot at the big dog. Teams like UL can overcome playing such a weak opponent with the rest of the schedule. If they did not have a strong schedule then playing an opponent like that would be questioned and might not happen, but all it turns into is a pre season game that counts.

Boise State used to be that "little" team that would get their shots at the "big dogs" i know what Weber State fans feel like, even if they lose...it's still an opportunity.

our first year in the WAC, we were the laughing stock...then we went and beat #8 Fresno State in their own house and everyone was turning their heads. that's where it all started.
