If the commish is going to suspend a player for 4 games for taking HGH/steriods to gain an advantage over the other team, how many games should a head coach get for giving his entire team an advantage over the other team by video taping the defensive coaches and possibly stealing the radio signals?

At most, I say he gets 2 games.

Based on one player getting four games and the fact that the CHEATERS (we really need to come up with a new logo for the franchise in New England) were warned prior to this happening, I think he should get a minimum of 4 games and wishfully thinking the rest of the season.

I read that they were possibly going to be docked a draft pick (or more than one) for the "infraction"

So when teams watch film of their opponents in preparation for a game do they watch an edited version of what was broadcasted live?

They watching several different angles, not just the telecast. They ARE NOT watching video of the coaches on the sideline. Even if they are, what the coaches do signal wise changes from game to game.

thats perfectly legal to do. You can watch any public broadcast of the game, and try to pick up on signals or audibles.... but you can't hire a camera man, and give the tape to the coaches THAT VERY GAME.. which is what the Patriots got caught doing.

If they could figure out even a few signals at halftime that would give them a huge advantage....

People are really trying to downplay the severity of what the Pats did, but the bottom line is they attempted to gain an unfairadvantage after they had been A) warned and B) Caught once before.

Shrek laid it down about as perfect as you can on NFL Live today. Turn on SC if you havent heard it.

I don't find it to be a coincidence, that the Patriots have been caught doing this before... the Commissioner was sure to give a warning to all the teams about abiding to he rules of cheating (about this SPECIFIC RULE) before the season, and THEN the Patriots were caught in GAME ONE of the season. They were looking for it. The Commish KNEW to look for it.. and there is a reason they knew to look for it.

It can't be a slap on the wrist. THe difference is... how much WE think is a slap on the wrist compared to what the NFL considers a slap on the wrist.

Do you think I'm trying to downplay this? I'm very serious about it. I posted this before I listened to Stink's comments on ESPNews. Mark Schlereth said it best that it is an unfair advantage. Just like using HGH. Schlereth also pointed out how the Patsies are the smartes team; always in the right spot; they just get it. Now all of a sudden we are starting to think: "Did they have an unfair advantage?"

                      Just posted by Adam Schefter:

                      According to Adam Schefter:

...the league plans on summoning New England coach Bill Belichick to its offices in New York this week to discuss the matter, and that possible punishment being considered by the NFL include fines, loss of draft picks and suspensions.

the easiest way to punish the pats for cheating is to take away the victory

If the discipline the Pats, then we ought to do the same to Broncos,

Bronco Fans should remember a couple of facts

                          1. They are notorious for chopping block on their offensive line. Without that Terrell Owens never would have been able to carry that chump Elway to a championship.

                          2. Most of the games between Pats and Broncos have been played in Denver, because Broncos need that homefield advantage of the thin air.

                          3. Patriots have complained in the past about poor treatment in Denver. They did not get sufficient practice time on the field and they didn't get sufficient oygen.

                          4. Bill Polian and the Colts only win, because he is on the rules committee. Every year he concocts a new rule to beat them. Last year he even bought the Refs.

You are a bona fide idiot. Terrell Davis, by the way, moron.

You forgot to mention how Shanny took Javon Walker hostage last year and wouldn't allow him to visit NE. Isn't kidnapping a Federal Offense?

Shanny should have been suspended and docked draft picks.
