Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

It may be a nice gesture - i see it as him trying to garnish more attention for himself - but im always the optimist
In all honesty - if I was the wife or mother of Sean I wouldnt want to see his number running around the field all the time- it would bring back so many memories and make it hard for me to move on - that being said - Im hoping he had the decency to ask his family if this is what THEY want - cuz its not and shouldnt be about what CP wants to do
Granted his # wont be retired or anything but I dont see anyone using it for awhile - ya know

IDK - thats just me
Keep hating on greatness
I'm sure CP talked to his family since he was in the hostpital with Sean when he died. He has known Sean for a long time now. I dont think this has nothing about him wanting attention at all. You really think he wants attention after one of his best friends just died? Thats just nuts.
That be like if KB died and you changed your screenname from Orangeblue420 to KiethBiship. I doubt it would have anything to do with attention.

Portis is a great man.
I didnt realize they were that close - but I stand by the fact it should be the families decision not CP's

I understand where your coming from, and agree to an extent, but Sean was a part of Clinton's life as well. They were also "family", and I don't see why Clinton needs to ask for permission to honor, in his own way, Sean Taylor.

Well thier family is going to see the #21 on every players NFL Helmet. So I dont know whats so horrible about wearing that jersey number. Theres players in the NFL who wear #21 as well. They arn't going to retire the #21 from the whole league. And Portis is a good guy and was with his dad so I'm sure he had permission anyways.
