Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Just reported on NFL network was a headline stating that the patriots aren't going to re-sign Randy Moss, or place the franchise tag on him so he will be a free agent.

Champ losing a step, just means the rest of the NFL is now only two steps behind.
The New England Patriots did not place their franchise tag on wide receiver Randy Moss on Thursday, technically leaving Moss open to free agency on Feb. 29.
The Patriots are apparently gambling that they could come to terms with Moss on a new contract so he can remain with the team.
Moss restructured his contract, dropping his base salary from $10 million to $3 million, to accommodate last April's trade from the Oakland Raiders to the Patriots. Moss earned an additional $2 million on incentives after breaking Jerry Rice's single-season record with 23 touchdown receptions.
Quarterback Tom Brady has indicated he wants Moss to return, and Moss has talked all season long about how much he liked playing for the Patriots.
Also at the deadline Thursday for NFL teams to franchise players, the Dallas Cowboys placed their tag on safety Ken Hamlin instead of left tackle Flozell Adams.
Hamlin received a one-year tender of $4.396 million. If a team tries to sign him, the Cowboys would have seven days to match an offer. The signing team then would have to surrender two-first-round picks to get Hamlin.

Remember he expressed interest in remaining a Patriot but as we all know, "money talks." I still see him signing a contract with them and taking another shot at the Super Bowl.
Here's another story from the Associated Press:
Moss not designated franchise player by New England
The Associated Press
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. | The New England Patriots did not designate Randy Moss as a franchise player Thursday, meaning they may have reached a contract agreement with the wide receiver or are allowing him to become a free agent.
Teams had until 4 p.m. to designate one player as a franchise player if they wished. Only 11 teams did that, not including the Patriots. If Moss and the Patriots have agreed to a multiyear contract, it cannot be announced until Feb. 29.
An exclusive franchise player cannot sign with another club and is offered a minimum of the average of the top five salaries at the player's position as of April 20, or 120 percent of the player's previous year's salary, whichever is greater.
A "non-exclusive" franchise player can get an offer sheet from another club but his team can match it. If it doesn't, it would receive two first-round draft picks as compensation.
After taking a pay cut when he was traded by Oakland to New England last April, Moss had an outstanding season. He set the NFL record with 23 touchdown catches in a season and totaled 98 receptions for 1,493 yards.
He repeatedly has praised quarterback Tom Brady, who has said he wants Moss back.
Last year the Patriots designated cornerback Asante Samuel as a franchise player but agreed not to do it again this year.

This could go either way. The only thing that's definite is he wasn't "franchised" by the team.
