Thanks for sharing
“I was just back at my room and at about 5:30 in the morning I got a knock at the door. I opened it and 3 guys with guns were there. They cracked me in the head a few times, knocking me unconscious. They then robbed me of everything I had; my watch, money, everything! Somehow they got me to a car and dropped me off in the street. That’s what happened.”
That part is scary^
Very sad stuff. Thats crazy though. I hope he is okay. -

I don't want to call him a liar... but maybe he's just not remembering fully yet. Head trauma and whatnot.
Regardless... I hope for a speedy recovery.Comment

Most places DO have security cameras, so maybe his story will hold up.*2011 BCMB Locker Room Division I League Champion**Voted; 2013 & 2015 BCMBA's Scariest Mod**Voted; 2014 BCMBA's Best Avi and Most Friendly*

Room Number?
Even if this was true, which it isn't. How did the assailants know Javon's room number? Did they go door to door until some idiot opened the door?sigpicComment

The hotel would have good security cameras that would catch three guys carrying Javon out of the hotel. Basically, if his story is true, then the hotel security will be able to verify it with their surveillence tapes.
If you were going to rob somebody why not just rob him in his room instead of dragging him outside so that the chances of being seen become very very likely?
Why did he even open the door?sigpic
Thank you to my grandfather jetrazor for being a veteran of the armed forces!Comment

Probably because the media is having a "hay day" with it pointing out obvious facts.

If there's no visual evidence from a fairly upscale (5-star) hotel of Javon being carried around,
then I might want to change my mind.
And why would they take the risk of taking him from his room and increase their chances of being caught after getting what they wanted?Last edited by atl-bronco; 06-18-2008, 04:37 PM.sigpicComment

I could think of lots of reasons why someone would want to drag them out of their room. Maybe they wanted to kidnap him, and then changed their mind? Maybe he had a rent a car with other valuables, and they knew about it. There isn't exactly a Robbing 101 for dummies mnanual out there that says don't drag them out of their room.
Why wouldn't he open the door? He's in a hotel room.
Surely the hate Walker's getting in this thread is nothing more then, "OMG, he dissed the Broncos and worse became a Raider, so this has to sound fishy", argument.Comment

I'm certainly not saying he isn't lying. And it's very likely it didn't happen in the manner he described, and in a way he is lying.
But there's no reason here to think that he wasn't mugged. And the assumption of lying to make a mockery out of this is extremely low class, IMHO.
The fact is, the dude was found beaten, and unconscious on the street. That should more then enough to stray away from ridiculous assumption threads like this.Comment

I'm suprised that he did not go with the whole I walked into the door angle.Ask me about My Jesus and how to have a relationship with Him.
