Should Kurt Warner go to the HOF?

I remember when he was with the Rams and they played the Broncos and that offense was unstoppable. We picked him off at least 2 times and they still put up 40 some points on us. The guy was unstoppable when he was part of the "Greatest Show on Turf".

What do you think? 2 Superbowl appearances (1 win), 2 time League MVP, Superbowl MVP, 2nd All-time in career QB Rating, 2nd All-time in completion percentage, are a few of his accomplishments.

Is he deserving of the HOF?

I wouldn't be shocked either way with him.

I think he should go. 2 time NFL MVP. Super bowl Champion. He deserves to go.

His numbers aren't amazing, but he has had a solid career.

That is a pretty good point about TD.

Both of them were only voted into 3 pro bowls (Warner will probably get his 4th this year)

And they both had brief periods of high level play.

Ya know....? I hafta think about it too. He flat out performs. Loses hi job then takes it back and doesn't look back. I like him and feel he is by far the most underrated qb in along time. I just really don't like his wife(course I have nothing to base this feeling off of).

his Super Bowl win was a fluke IMO. I'm not really sold on him, he couldn't keep Eli Manning from taking his starting job, he had a few injuries where he was on the sidelines for too long. he plays a good game, but I dont think it's HOF Status worthy.

He COULD keep Eli Manning from winning the starting job, thats why he was shipped out of NY. They Giants made a trade to GET Him.. and we ALL know that the most popular player on the team is the back-up QB. So Warner was kept for a season to help teach, and then let go so that people didn't keep calling for Warner to be brought in.

He deserved and won two NFL MVP awards, and a Super Bowl MVP while taking his team to TWO super bowls in three years. Hard to say that he's some kind of 'fluke' when 45% of the games he has played he's thrown for over 300 yrds and the person closest to him is Dan Fouts with 23%.

I looked up Warner's stats, and he only tossed 40 TDs once, not twice.

He won two MVPs (definitely deserved) while with the Rams and from 1999-2001, he was straight up eviscerating secondaries.

But from 2002-2006, Warner was ordinary or even below average. He just was not good and he couldn't stay healthy. His completion percentage stayed up, but his touchdowns went way down. Check that. 2005 was an okay year for Warner (he was hurt for almost half of that year plus I think I'm being a little generous saying that), but he slipped again in 2006 (opening the door for Matt Leinart).

Give Warner credit because since he took over for Leinhart last year, his numbers have been good. However, that was an ugly stretch that he had. If he was able to put up decent numbers in that stretch, I would say yes but he didn't.

Also remember that Warner has not played a whole season since 2001 (he came the closest last year, but of course he didn't begin the season as the starter).

Too many iffy years for my taste. This isn't the Hall of Very Good we're talking about. This is the Hall of Fame.

If he wins the MVP this year it'll be the longest gap (7 seasons) between a player's 1st & 2nd or their 2nd & 3rd award. And it will be the the second longest gap between wins by a multiple winner, when Unitas won his first in 1959 and his third in 1967.

The only multiple MVP winners not in the Hall of Fame are currently active: Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and Kurt Warner. We know why Favre and Manning should get in. But because Warner may be third in that elite bunch due to his greatness coming in a shorter spurt, it shouldn't keep him out.

I think yes, he was elected 2 times MVP of the NFL, Warner is a Super Bowl Champion, and now in his 37 he's playin' great. I think he really deserves to go.

So I'm Just Wondering here, does Trent Green deserve to be in the Hall of Fame then?

He has all them stats he put up in Kansas City, has a Super Bowl ring, and made several Pro Bowls. Had the leagues best offense for 5 years (till Herm gotta hold of it....)

I would be all for Kurt Warner going to the HoF. He isn't smashing records but he has been MVP and won a superbowl.
I never could understand why St. Louis would just drop him. Kinda wish we had picked him up...
