  • So Who Gets Canned This Year?

Well from what I can tell the following Head Coaches will be on the chopping block. Looks like it's gonna be a busy off season for the NFL, as I see potentially 10 teams that will be looking to hire new head coaches, and at least 3 teams looking to hire new GM's. I definitely forsee minimum 6 of the 10 definitely being shown the door.

Rod Marinelli - Detroit Lions (going 0-16 will get you shown the door very quickly in the NFL. I doubt that a win will even save his job though.)

Herman Edwards - Kansas City Chiefs (3 seasons with the Chimps and he's declined in each season going from 9-7 to 4-12, to most likely 2-14. bye Sperm Edwards, you're a buffoon, and you are worthless as a head coach...go back to being a defensive coordinator. Remember: you're supposed to play to win the game...not lose them...)

**** Jauron - Buffalo Bills (after getting off to a hot 4-0 record, the Bills have been a big disappointment this season, **** Jauron is to blame, but is anyone really surprised? He was after all a flop in Chicago as well as everywhere else he's gone in the NFL.)

Wade Phillips - Dallas Cowboys (so long Tubby, you were mediocre everywhere else in the league (Buffalo & Denver) you went as a head coach, I have yet to figure out why Jerry Jones thought any different 2 years ago....)

Romeo Crennel - Cleveland Browns (from playoff contender, back to being that nasty little skidmark in the NFL's underwear once again...bye bye Romeo, the Browns are about to welcome back Martyball.)

Tom Cable - Oakland Raiders (I'm surprised Davis hasn't fired this tub of worthless fader lard yet. Tom Cable is a bigger joke than Lane Kiffin, Davis shoulda stuck with what he had, but oh well, he's getting what he deserves, his next coach will be just as big of a loser as the previous 4 or 5).

Gary Kubiak - Houston Texans (I hate to say it but I don't think Kubiak is getting the job done in Houston, and this being his 3rd season, the team is regressing yet again...I don't see management retaining him. Good luck wherever you end up Kubiak).

Norv Turner - San Diego Chargers (How could anyone keep this moron as their head coach? He's all but run one of the NFL's best teams into the ground. Adios muchacho.)

Marvin Lewis - Cincinnati Bengals (Despite the owner's vow to keep Marv Lewis on for 2009, I think that's all show to keep the players together until the end of the season. Marv hasn't gotten the job done in Cincy, and hasn't made the playoffs since 2005. His message is no longer getting through to his players and he doesn't have a disciplined squad.)

Jack Del Rio - Jacksonville Jaguars (He's borderline. It could go either way...he could keep his job or he could lose it. His players are not buying into what he's selling anymore, and they're gonna miss the playoffs after
    going 13-3 last year.)

    GM Firings.

Phil Savage - Cleveland Browns (hasn't gotten it done, despite better drafting in recent years. Cussing out a Browns fan and telling him to go root for Buffalo via email didn't help his case any either. Replacement: Marty Schottenheimer as Head Coach/GM)

Carl Peterson - Kansas City Chiefs (I think Clark Hunt will reach his breaking point after this season concludes, and will buyout Peterson's remaining year on his contract and send him and his buddy Herm Edwards packing. Petersons 5 year Super Bowl Plan has long expired, and everyone's tired of his bs and poor recent draft choices, as well as the direction of the team. Replacement: Who Knows.)

John Guy - Buffalo Bills (GM/VP of Player Personnel. He's as responsible as **** Jauron for this team not making the playoffs and for this years flop. Replacement: Who Knows.)

    Others...

Minnesota might have a coach opening soon if Childress doesn't pick it up. Best RB in the league and no legitimate QB, the defense is getting better but tired from offense turnovers.

St. Louis, San Francisco, and Oakland all have interim coaches that can be replaced at any time but most likely next year.

Why is Andy Reid still around ? Good coach but the Eagles are past tense for being good.
    Denver's airport is DIA...Our defense is M. I. A.

Vikes are in the middle of a playoff run right now. I think they will edge out the Bears for the NFC North title.

I think the 49'ers will stay with Mike Singletary, and St. Louis will make Jim Haslett their full time coach.

As for Andy Reid? 3 NFC Championship Games in a row + a Super Bowl Appearance, will allow you to stay around for a good while.

Not to mention they are making a late, strong, run the last few games beating the Giants. That keeps your job as well.

Also... the only HC I disagreed with was Kubiak. I thought earlier this year that he would be gone since he hasn't really improved things over there, and I still think he hasn't..... but the team has played well the last few games and had a big win this week against a good team.

I know Kubiak is a favorite around here, but as of right now, he's not a good HC. He's on the bubble, but not sure his job is in jeopardy yet. I say next season is his last.

There's going to be a ton of HC's fired. Haslett needs to get go too. I hate when people keep saying what a nice guy Romeo is....who the hell cares!!! He can't get the job done...that's all that matters!!! Rod MORONelli is still coaching only cause they have no other option to replace him currently.

It's funny how we can't type "d i c k" lol. Yeah Jauron is a complete bafoon. I don't know why teams keep hiring that lame conservative playcaller.

I knew it!!!! I knew someone would eventually say it. *** ****, now I'm pissed. so now I gotta go old school and bring back this thread from the dead.

I brought this up in 2007 during the draft that we needed a kicker and everyone said oh no, kicker is the last of our worries, we don't need a kicker.

now here we are and people are wishing we had a kicker.

you know what sucks? we could have taken Mason Crosby out of Colorado.

I told everyone we needed a freakin kicker and nobody listened.

So Kub loses his job and Jacksonville picks him and he proceeds to "roger" the Texan's year in and year out like Shanny with Oakland...?

I seem to think with Thigpen looking at least semi-promising, guys like Flowers,
Legget, and Carr playing well on defense, and the further devopement of Bowe
will cause Petersona nd Herm to both keep their jobs.

The team has gone backwards since Herm got here, but I think it's more on
Peterson than Herm. If Peterson goes, Herm is obvisouly gone. Lamar Hunt needs
to quit combing his hair and just pay off the old wrinkly fool, and bring in someone
that realizes 30mil of CAP space allows you to sign some free agents.

dude Lamar Hunt is dead. he died the week after the Chiefs vs Broncos game @ Arrowhead in November of 2006.

his son Clark Hunt now runs the team.

                          Vikings

Childress is in a lot more trouble than you can imagine if the Vikes do not make a playoff run he's done. If they make the playoffs and are out in the first round it is iffy. I cannot believe Singletary acts the way he does publicly humiliating his players, that's not good coaching. He will keep his job through next season but could be replaced easily with the right candidate. The Lions need a new owner. St. Louis might do a Miami and come back competitive the next season, but Kansas City is destined for basement dwelling without change in the GM down. The Browns are destined for a coaching change as well. What the league needs is for everyone to produce a better product.

Uhmmm...... perhaps you didn't read the news.... but Lamar has passed away (been a couple years now)... and his son is running the show.

His son has said publically, that he does NOT have the patience his father displayed. I don't think Herm gets (nor deserves) another year as HC. Not when he's not getting along with the best weapon on your team (Larry Johnson). Not when he has dwindled the team year after year.

But you are right... I think its time King Carl goes. Marty Schottenheimer made his job, and kept his job, for 20 years.

I agree that Crennel will be/should be fired. However I disagree on a few things - other than the obvious jab at the Browns.

1st - Schottenheimer would be great back and very nostalgic. Like all things, however he is going to be 66 at the beginning of next season. A 66 year old head coach - that's old. I highly doubt he would be a 'good' signing despite all the good he would do. He just wouldn't have the time.

2nd - I don't like Cowher and do not want him. Raised in Pittsburgh - he's no good. I don't care if he got his start in Cleveland or if he recently bought a house outside Cleveland. Don't care for that Stooler.

3rd - Savage has done a very good job in the draft. Sure, his late round picks haven't panned out that well. But, that's just it, those are late rounders and to find a diamond in the rough is rare. Edwards has had some good years and is a talented reciever when he catches the ball. Quinn looks like a keeper, I like Rucker's play style, Wright has been impressive and should start at corner for years to come, Joe Thomas is a monster at tackle, and last but certainly not least, look at all the veterans he has brought in that have paid big dividends in their play.
The Browns are gone; I'm not a fan of the Impostors

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?
