  • Love the Cards, fans are a different story.

Always been a hard core Denver fan, but I am an underdog guy by trade. I have always liked the Cardinals. I live in Tucson and the fans here are a little suspicious. When I first moved here everyone was Dallas or Oakland and that is not being overdramatic.

When I asked about the Cardinals initially they would all pretty much say the same thing. I like them but... They shouldn't even have a team here... They should change the Cardinals to something different...

Plus everyone wanted Kurt Warner gone last year and was pissed when Wisenhunt went with him instead of Leinart.

But all I see now is Warner jerseys everywhere, just representing Arizona because they are going to the Super Bowl.

Did you know they threatened to black out the game if they could sell out the stadium the first round of the playoff. You could go to the field and buy a playoff ticket from the ticket booth 20 min. before the game. A Playoff game.

I can't stand band wagon jumpers, that why I love the Broncos so much because for the most part the fans stay tight and support and apprciate a professional football team in there town. I watch every minute of the games even if we are getting stomped.

The Cardinal fans should either keep cheering for Oakland or Dallas and lets a new generation of people start the fan base for the Cards.

Go Cardinals Super Bowl Winners 31-20!!!!

I've lived in Phoenix for almost 15 years now (life-long Broncos fan transplanted from Colorado) and I personally know 1...that's ONE as in UNO...true Cardinals fan.

Bandwagoners will be coming out of the woodwork now.

All fans of every team are obnoxious, including Broncos fans.

Fans are unrealistic, think their team is more than it is, and love to debate stupid issues.

Right now, Steeler fans head the list.

      Go Cardinals.

I was born in Scottsdale, lived in Phoenix when the Cards moved to town, and I remember the hope that everyone had. But after years and years of the Bidwells being absolutely laughable as owners, can you blame the fans for turning away? I sure can't.

Finally, Bidwell's son took over, got a new stadium, and is putting a winner on the field.

Honestly, it's no different than when the Rox went to the World Series in '07. I'm a Red Sox fan, lifelong, and even I was rooting for my hometown team.
        In Manning I trust.

How long have the Cardinals been in Arizona? Like 20 years? They sucked TOTAL ASS for 18 of those years.

By TOTAL ASS I mean it. They were considered for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time to be the worst NFL franchise in the league. God awful owners the whole nine yards.

Kind of hard to have a large fan base with those kind of conditions.

            Yea I hate bandwagoners...

Being a Bucs fan for years I am all aware of the regulars who jump on the bandwagon and off the bandwagon.

Why would someone be a fan of the Cardinals until a couple of years ago? When it became clear they were putting together a good team?

Owners were crap, stadium was crap. I don't see why anyone would support them really, unless they were St Louis, or Chicago Cardinal fans.

In my lifetime never did I think I would live to see a black man in the whitehouse or the Cardinals in the Superbowl, and now both are happening within two weeks! Wow.

Yup, I know exactly one true Cardinals fan. He was born in St. Louis and was a big cardinals fan (baseball and football) from those days, and continued to like them when they moved to Arizona.

Poor guy, he deserves this. As do all real Cardinal fans. That won't stop me from cheering against them, as he has done whenever the Broncos play in a big game.

I tend to disagree with you about the claim that it is pathetic that the Cardinals fan's are simply bandwagon jumpers. While the Cards don't have a huge loyal fanbase like a lot of teams, I think that the Cardinal's situation is different. First, Phoenix is really a transient city that has a lot of people move there later in life that are already fans of other teams. Also, the fact that they had an outdoor stadium really prevented the team team from getting fans. I can remember how miserable I was sitting in their old stadium during the first half of the season burning up in 100+ weather. (You can always add layers for the cold, but you can only shed so many layers in the heat).
Furthermore, the city really is the Suns' (and Diamondbacks') city (kinda like Denver is the Broncos' as apposed to the Rockies').
As far as the crowd against the Falcons goes, I was at that game and the stadium was full and the crowd was very into. There were very very few Falcons fans there (substantially fewer than Broncos fans at the Atlanta game).
That being said, I guess I am one of the many native Arizonans that isn't a Cardinals fan (I root for them, but I've always been a Broncos fan since I used to go watch their training camps every summer up in Greeley when I was young).

Bingo. I agree. Ive lived in Arizona for 12 years (of my almost 19 years of existence on this little planet) and ive seen the same thing. People come to Arizona to retire. Were full of old people that have probably liked other teams their whole lives. So most football fans here are from other places and like other teams. When I went to Bronco games when they came here it was pretty much a sea of blue with little red pockets here and there. But I dont think Arizona has bandwagon fans. I mean think about it. Who would want to be a bandwagon fan of the ARIZONA CARDINALS? Most of these people youre seeing now probably have been fans their whole lives. They just havent really had a reason to celebrate. But im pretty sure that the Cards have sold out most of their games at the new stadium (which I might add is freakin sweet. lol).

Like im sure when Denver won their two SBs alot of Bronco fans started popping up like daisies.
