Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

To cardinal fans, this is why a running game is so important.
Lets see here, you can have two passing plays to try and make a TD and if you come up empty you still have a FG try.
Or, one running play and FG.
Its not rocket science boys. It was just a bad call by the OC, it should have been a fade route to Fitz or something deeper in end zone. Calling a quick slant was just a bad call.
It was actually a great call, just a bad read by Warner. The Steelers called an all out blitz, but Harrison faked the blitz & stayed back. Warner made the read before the play & stuck with it.
As for the fade to Fitzgerald, thats not always an assured play. The qb needs time to throw that pass. So if they send a all out blitz, Warner might not get set right & throw a pick.

Why hasn't anyone said about Warners effort to push Harrison out of bounds on the run back. :brick:
It reminds me of the NFL films, when the Dolphins got their kick blocked & the kicker showed no effort to bring him down. It's not the fact that you goofed up, but how you made up for it!
Warner should of laid his body into him, not to tackle him just to push him out. The time would of expired & they would of got the ball back after halftime.
when u get that close to the goaline. u have to atleast try to run it in. instead warner makes a bad read and harrison picks him off for a TD the other way. a 10 point swing if not a 14 point. seems like the running game has gotten away from a lot of teams.
if you didnt realize there was only a couple seconds left in the game. And NO timeouts.
you just about can't run it that situation. no timeouts left, you get stuffed, and you don't get any points. Throwing the ball was the way to go. You can argue the play call was questionable. It was a bad throw, and an amazing run back that usually gets tackled before the score. Both were really unlucky for the cardinals and, unfortunately, cost them the game.
it was only second down wasn't it? if so,quick hand-off. don't make it then spike the ball and go for a field goal with about 3-5 seconds on the clock. i know, easier said than done. THAT PLAY JUST PISSED ME OFF.
Why waste a down? I would rather have two tries to pass the ball then one try running the ball.
Problem was with the specefic call. Throw the fade to Fitzgerald, he's unstoppable. It's either TD or incomplete.
after all it wasnt the almighty running ability of the cards that put them in a position to win the super bowl late in the game... they played their best against the steelers while THROWING in the 4th quarter...
no doubt. i just hate seeing one dimensional teams. that seems to be the trend.
I dont think you are going to find too many Arizona fans on a Bronco message board. You might want to try the Cardinals message board to contact those fans in the future
no i'm a denver fan. just commenting on the game lastnight ans pissed the steelers won.

your right on one thing
18 seconds is PLENTY of time on the clock to call a run play even with zero time outs remaining... im not gonna disagree there... they could of ran a play and then spiked the ball to set up for a FG..
the pass play wasnt the problem at all thou...
it was the poor execution on Warner that caused the interception... Harrison acted like he was gonna pass rush but dropped back into coverage and Warner didnt think he was going to be where he was... that is all on Warner...
like Chris Wade said you live by the sword you die by the sword... the cards are a passing team and thought they could pass better in teh red zone then run...

the cards should of lined up 4 wide the entire game and they would of eaten up the Steelers secondary... the steelers were more worried about teh cards throwing game than they were about them having a running game...

the steelers are the best D in the league... the cards made the correct call in a pass play... it was just terrible execution on Warner to throw the ball into coverage... he obviously didnt read the coverage correctly and tried to force the ball into a window that wasnt there...
even if they were getting 10 yards per run, i would of put my money on the Steelers red zone D...
Salty you said it just like I would have. Only you said it better . Huzzah
true. but edge was getting almost 4yds per run. you'd think he could get one or two yards regardless of who's defense is out there.
