  • Good News! Report: TE Gonzalez likely headed to Falcons

Looks like the Chiefs are gonna be without Gonzo, good news for our Defense!

Lombardi says Gonzo has already cleared his Chiefs locker in anticipation of a deal. The Chiefs lost their second-round pick in February's Matt Cassel trade and are reportedly willing to send Gonzalez to Atlanta for the No. 55 overall pick. Gonzo recently turned 33, but obviously can still play. He caught 96 passes for 1,058 yards (11.0 YPC) and 10 touchdowns in 2008

Okay, my bags are packed because me and this thread are movin!!!!

That being said..... I'll miss the guy in the AFCW if he does leave. Always have liked him.... would have loved to see him finish it all as a Chief. But I understand getting value out of him. I also understand him wanting a ring and KC does not look to be rings chasers... yet..... but I expect them to make some noise this year and make it difficult for a few teams.

Huge fan of Gonzo, he is a class act and a great football player. Good news for our defense, as he always put a hurtin' on our defense year after year. Where ever Gonzo ends up, he is a first ballot Hall of Famer, no doubt.

Yeah, Gonzalez is one of the few division rivals I have always respected. Best of luck to him, It would be great if he could get a ring before he retired:salute!:

Tony is a class act, wish him well! On a related note is he just trying to go somewhere to win or is he being pushed out of KC by the new regime?

                Thx,
                Joe

Shannon #84 should of been a first ballot HOF'er. Hopefully the voters learn their lessons and recognize the importance of a quality TE, and what it brings to an offense....

                    BTW, I agree...

I don't know.....a 2nd Round pick for a HOF tight end who will be 34 this year. Seems pretty steep to me. But, I respect the heck out of Tony.

I have much respect for Tony. he is a definate HOF guy and a class act. I will be glad that he's no longer going to have moster games against us twice a year though. and the last I heard he wanted out of KC don't know if that's true or not, but I read it someplace.

                        :go:

I'd rather him stay in KC for his last couple years. Now the Chiefs most likely get a 2nd round draft pick and a young playmaker.

Where is all this "Classy guy" talk coming from? He was the AFC West's biggest crybaby and threw his whole entire organization under the bus because he wants to go to a winning team.

Do you guys not remember how he treated the Chiefs last year?

What's the difference between this and Cutler?
