For the sake of the Bears they better win this year. There defensive front 7 is not getting any younger, and their secondary is below average at best. On paper they look like they have a shot at the playoffs, but this could be a year of implosion for them:
No one knows if Orlando Pace is going to be anywhere near the the player he was 3 years ago. The injury bug has hit their front seven hard in the last two years. If they have a difficult time providing pass protection on the offensive side of the ball, and their defensive front 7 can't stop the run or apply very good pass pressure, then it could potentially be the perfect storm in the "Windy City".
They won't have the draft picks over the next two years to begin rebuilding their defense the way that they need to, so if they don't win now the future could be unfriendly to them.
Their schedule is not as soft as it seems on paper. It makes the assumption that Seattle, Cincinatti, and Green Bay will have losing seasons again. I think that atleast two of those teams will be playoff contenders this year.
The Bears better enjoy the honeymoon now because it may be very short lived.sigpic

the strength of schedule means nothing, they have such a statistical outlier with playing the lions twice (adding 0-32 to their SOS) that it drags the entire NFC north SOS down a ton.sig pic removed by mod staff.

chicago fans ARE more passionate. he cares about his feelings more then he cares about winning or his teammates here in denver. if he gets knocked out, i will feel the same as i do when ANY player from another team gets knocked out for the year: that sucks, but its part of the game.sig pic removed by mod staff.
