McDaniels is no dummy when it comes to QB's, and after working with him for about two weeks, suddenly wanted to trade for Matt Cassel out of the blue.

Jay Cutler's nickname should be 'fools gold'.

Good luck, Bear fan, you will need it.
what the hell did that have to do with the thread??
for one MCD is an idiot and will have the same fate as mangini and crennel. you guys "HAD" a rediculous awsome offense even with out a fricken running game. You are now a system team. you will not have a high flying offense which means your defense has to come up big with your rookie saviors or you guys are done for. Moreno will not be able to offset a 4500 yard passing season by cutler. and orton will be safe but will not have anywhere near that kind of production. the balance will keep you in games but thats about it. you guys will go 8-8 or 7-9 maybe

Being a system team worked pretty well in NE. But I do agree on the 8-8 thing. That is my prediction and I think that is a decent total for a rebuilding team that has completely restructured the whole organization. Give them a couple of seasons to completely integrate new personnel and give the players experience and this team will be back to the Golden Age of the Broncos.

I find it a little shocking anybody would suggest Cutler didn't know what he was getting into.

Cutler grew up in the area and desired the Bears tradition. Arguably much of that tradition exists within the fanbase.

There's a reason Saturday Night Live had skits examining the lengths Bears fans went to in their deification of players and personnel.

So I don't want to hear this is all a shock for Cutler. I know most of the media hype suggests that Cutler was essentially an innocent bystander in the trade. This is a false suggestion judging by the rumors that swirled here in Chicago long before Cutler was ever on the market. It was known here that Cutler intended on coming to Chicago.

As has been already mentioned, he did the same thing in Denver. He is boring off the field. Does not care about the fans. Does not care about press conferences. He just wants to play and be left alone. At least there he is only alienating the fans instead of the head coach and the owner.

Is anyone surprised? He did the same thing in Denver. That's just the way he is. He always looked arrogant and unfriendly. As long as he delivers on the field...

Mike Piazza was considered one of the worse people to get an autograph. I met the guy when I was younger during fan-days at Dodger Stadium before he was traded and he was the nicest guy to talk to, I have a few cards signed from him.

Eric Karros who was considered a 'fan friendly' baseball player after a half hour blew off the rest of the fan day pissing off the Dodger faithful.

So seriously, some fans can be total A-hats. Its all about the approach to the player. If your acting pushy and prody your gonna end up with nothing.

Kids at times can be overwhelming epically if they let loose on a player. I had to cover as Snoopy one time at Knotts god I hated every minute after the first two hours. Kids coming out of nowhere hitting, asking for high fives, pictures ect... it gets tiring to the point where you just dont want to do it. Thats why most of the people that are in those type of costumes in amusement parks are girls.
McDaniles Career as a failure of a Head Coach is being fulfilled. Termination of McFailure has happen.

Rejoice Bronco Fans we have taken our team back, but at a heavy cost.

I don't like how this article trys to pass off Denver as a city without a storied franchise.

                    "this is not Denver"

I know Chicago has a storied past, but so does Denver. We've been to more Superbowls to have that storied past. The Bears are one year wonders, 1985 and 2007 is all they have to go on. Broncos have been to 4 Superbowls in the time Chicago has been to 2. I know there is the "Monsters of the Midway" mistique, but there is also the "Orange Crush" mistique. I think this author is trying to play us off as not a football city, BS!!
