    HOW THE FUND STARTED

    * Jerry Kramer’s Super Bowl I ring, which was stolen 25 years ago, helped start the fund. The idea was developed when Jerry Kramer’s Super Bowl I ring was found on an online auction. The auction company, Mastros Auctions, returned the ring. Kramer then asked them to auction off his Super Bowl I replica ring to benefit retired players in need. The endeavor was a success, and raised $22,000, which was then used as the first capital to establish the Gridiron Greats fund. Jerry Kramer founded the organization

He should be in the HOF for starting this organization.

In Kramer's, they mentioned that there are 11(!!!) Packer's from the Lombardi(including Vince) era in the hall... but that Kramer was THE guard named for the 50th anniversary team.

The HOF voters...? I just don't know how they do it sometimes.

    Ken Anderson.

The guy at the end says- "If you're a qb looking to get into the hall and you've not won a championship, then your argument is very weak." I disagree. Winning one will add water, but not winning one should have no effect on whether or not you get into the hall. Marino. He's in. Elway was considered a HOFer before he won his two rings. Manning(Peyton) before he got his ring. Even winning one doesn't mean a whole lot. Doug Williams anyone? He's got one... but he doesn't belong in the hall. It's a team game and winning a SB takes a team effort. The HOF is for individuals who stand out among their peers for being the best of the best.

Yeah, I've watched some of them now... but Ricky Watters? Still not sold. Kramer? Yes. Carter and Thomas? Yes and yes.

    RIcky Watters?

I dunno... when I think of the greatest all-time, I just don't think of him. He put up HUGE numbers and was a great back... but I don't see anytime soon. Maybe when's he an old man and he get's put in the by Veterans Comittee... but not anytime soon.

So okay. It's older than Shannon getting shafted. He gets a pass on this one. I still would have liked to have seen Gradishar and Rich Jackson at least mentioned. Then again we've already both jumped off the deep end once. Maybe he does mention one of them or even both of them and I just didn't see the clip.

NFL Videos sucks. I used to like Steve Sabol. Maybe he's changed as he's gotten older. Maybe I drink less now.

    Maybe both.
