The only reason that's still a record is because they say "perfect season" without taking into account that the season is longer now.

    .
All things being even, I'd say the "perfect season" is more impressive then 14 wins in a modern day season. Fewer teams then... lack of sports science/nutrition.... arguments could be made either way though.

Had Buddy Ryan not screwed up back in 1985 by using LB's to cover WR's in Miami on a Monday night, the Bears would have had a fittingly perfect season. We all wanted the Dolphins in the SB that year, but were stuck with the Patriots to slaughter. Every year Mercury Morris has to run his mouth about a 14 game season when an undefeated team loses a game. That record will always be tainted as far as I'm concerned.

This one will be broken. The technology, medicine, and practices all favor longevity. Beyond that, the rules have changed considerably and will continue to change in favor of the health of the quarterback as well as favoring the offense overall - because points equals excitement and that means more viewers.

This record will not stand forever.

He is only 23 games ahead of Halas. However, no one else even breaks the 300 mark.

Still, we're seeing some very young coaches that may be around a loooong time in the NFL these days. Time will tell.

LT's scoring record should be up there since he broke a 46 year old record
