Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Really grasping at straws here. Oh, he fired someone by text message. Lets nit pik and write an article about it to prove what a punk he is.
Good grief. I cannot believe this is the best thing people can write about. Steve mcnair has an affair for several years and get shot and killed. But Jay firing someone through a text message is clearly of the utmost importance.
Hmmm classy lol yes people have been fired over the phone but atleast there you get a voice telling you that your fired dumped etc getting it in a text is like getting a dear John letter lol no voice no emotion just simply words either way is immature though so Jay has shown that he still hasnt grown up since moving from here to fire the guy who has helped him with so much and hes hired an entertainment lawyer hmm wonder what hes gunna do other than look for multiple sponsership ops and care about money not the charitys
Seems to me he fired someone who is based out of Denver and replaced him with Jeff Jacobs an entertainment lawyer based in Chicago.
Flip side to all of this is, all Cutler has done in Chicago is show up for work and do his job, while turning down endorsement opportunities. As Cutler has said he has steered clear of those because he has not even stepped on the field yet. In one of the biggest sports markets in the country Cutler is leaving a whole lot of money on the table. seems Cutler's focus right now is playing football and working with children with juvenile diabetes.

I don't care if it's a players means of communication. It's stupid to conduct business via SMS. This isn't high school.
Oh, I agree with you. Don't get me wrong. I'm just saying that if I was the coach and a player had expressed a strong interest in texting, and I was trying to bridge gaps... I might send a few text messages. Not to conduct business, but just to say hi and stuff.
I've had friends break up with girls by texting and I thought that was immature but to fire someone via text is just ridiculous. This kid needs to grow up before he gets my respect back for the immature crap he pulled here.
Cutler obviously prefers to do everything by text. If that's the case and McDaniels was trying to reach out to the kid, he was right to use the format the kid felt comfortable with. When you're speaking to someone and you want to find common ground, it's best to speak to them in their native medium.
A coach/mentor's job is to communicate. That's best done with the means and vocabulary the player/student finds familiar.

That's why it was DUMB for McDaniels to try and 'reach' Cutler via SMS, as it is for Cutler to fire this guy via SMS.
