Week 7 Notes

***Denver picked up a lot of points in their bye week mostly due to the Cowboys jumping 10 spots in the rankings... Cincy and NE increases also created more points for them.

***The Colts may be the best team, but after a bye week and a win vs. the Rams, they aren't getting much points here... The Saints and Broncos would still be ahead of them if they lose this week.

***Wins vs. top 10 teams... Denver-3, Saints-1, Colts-1.
***Wins vs. bottom 10 teams...Denver-2, Saints-1, Colts-3

***The Cardinals have jumped 11 spots from 17 to 6 after 2 good wins.

*** If the top 3 all win this week... The Broncos will probably remain #1, but the Saints would close the gap. The Colts weak schedule so far doesn't give them much chance to move up yet.

Week 8 Notes

***Well, no surprise, the Broncos lose their 3 week run as the #1 team as the Saints top a good Atlanta team.

***The Colts have the 2nd easiest schedule in the NFL according to one soruce... that's why they can't top the 1-loss Vikings and Broncos yet.

***St. Louis jumped back over Tampa Bay for the battle for last.

***After 5 weeks, many polls had the Giants as the #1 or #2 team... this power point system had them #8... I think that helps justifty this system.

***No there's no specific math reason that the top team has 107 points and the worst team is at -107... just coincidence.


***IF Denver wins next week, they most certainly have a chance of getting back to #1, even if New Orleans wins. Minnesota has a bye, so they won't catch NO or Denver.

Week 9 Comments

*** Denver falls one more spot, this system doesn't hit you too much for losing to a good team, that's why they only fell to #3. Then again, you don't get rewarded much for beating a bad team, so Denver will not have much of a chance to move up this week... if they lose, expect a big fall.

*** Saints #1 for 2 weeks running... Indy continues to move up.

***Vikings drop from #3 to #5 on their bye week, it's all pretty much fair game from here on out as almost all teams have had their bye.

***The Steelers picked up the most points this week, the Packers lost the most.

*** So much for the Broncos easy schedule... 5 of their 8 games have come against top 12 teams... that's playoff caliber games and they are still 3-2 in those games.

*** A team getting a little love in the press, at least until last week was the Texans, yet I have them at #18. Why? Their best win? San Fran. Not a great resume their for Mr. Kubiak's squad.

Texans beat the Bengals last month. I hate to remind myself, but that's by far their best win.

Week 10 notes

The Broncos slide continues... from #1 to #2 to #3 to #5... a bad loss to Washington drops them to the lowest ranking since week 4.

The Colts overtake #1 with a strong victory over the Patriots.... the Saints actually lost points this week because (a) their victory over St. Louis netted them just 2 points (b) some of their previous wins over the likes of the Giants, Jets and Falcons don't look as impressive now.

The Bengals have 2 losses, but are right up their with the undefeateds... 2 wins over a highly rated Steelers will do that for you.

Tampa Bay... congrats, you are now #32.

Week 11 notes

Ugh, this was funner at 6-0.

***The Broncos slide again to #6, this system evaluates week one with the same criteria as week 11, so the Broncos 4 quality wins still keep their rankings up high. They are much closer to the middle and one more loss, and they will really start to drop.

***Indy has entered a tougher part of their schedule and now we can say they are the #1 team in the land.

***The Chargers are #4, I hate that.

*** Congrats Cleveland... loss to the Lions places you at #32!
