Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

I know there's a lot of speculation but unless I'm wrong, why would Shanny want to coach? Wouldn't he forfeit the rest of the money Denver owes him? It's a lot of money and to just sit and chill and rake in a truckload of cash.
I understand if you love coaching you wanna get back in the fray but... thoughts?

He can sign a cheap 2 year deal and Bowlen will be responsible for the difference. Shanahan loses nothing over the next two years by signing with a team.
You're Wrong! Recognize That You're Wrong!
Move On
I told a buddy of mine when we trded Cutler Channy was the next coach and GM of the Chicago bears.. I am not a porfit but I did stay at a Holliday Inn.

That's actually the most likely team I've heard yet. Of course that would do nothing for Cutler's development, Shanny coddled him like a child.
You think their is any chance Shanny could go into the college football ranks? Why go into some bad situation like Wasihngton or even Dallas? Plus I assume he want to run the show which would be easier in college?
Why not? I don't think it's out of the question. It's not likely, but it's not out of the question.
Mike Shanahan is not an AFC North coach. He knows how to build a "finesse" offense. That is, an offense built on speed that can score fast. In the AFC North it is up to a power running game. Mike Shanahan does not fit the mold of an AFC North coach. Furthermore, the Browns have been installing a 3-4 defense and Shanahan and his "cronies" prefer a 4-3. That does not fit into the Browns plans. Shanahan also does not know how to build a winning defense. That has always been the drawback to him during his coaching career. Further, the Browns will need to fix the team through the draft and have a ton of draft selections next year. How has Shanahan done in the Draft? Let's just say he's been very poor in his selections over the years. Shanahan is not the right man, period.
I don't think there is anyway Shanny would even consider the Browns anyways. There are better options and I don't think Shanny would do well with a rebuilding team, he wants to coach a team that is good but under preforming (cowboys).
Shanahan would want a team like that because he wouldn't want to be exposed for what he really is - a less than adequate coach. Shanahan has had minimal success since his favorite QB retired. Since his favorite QB retired he has had a revolving door at the QB position.
I will destroy all Chicago suggestions in one fell swoop. It was wise leaving them off the list.
Chicago has nothing for the future other than Briggs, Cutler, Forte, OLSEN?, and maybe a 2nd and 3rd WR. That's it!
They have nothing outside of that and even Forte and Olsen are question marks.
Their offensive line is horrible. But the worst part is nobody is developing behind them. They're screwed. The defensive line is horrible as well. Horrible. Even if you liked some aspect of their defensive line - half of them are free agents. On top of that Shanahan wants to run a 3-4 and NO personnel fits the 3-4 scheme. The DBs absolutely stink. Urlacher is old/done. All they have on defense is 30 year old Lance Briggs.
I don't think some of you get how bad it is. THE BEARS GOT CUTLER TO MAKE A FINAL PUSH FOR THE SUPER BOWL. They had nothing developing other than WRs. It's one big steaming pile.
So you might say to yourself, "well Shanahan might prefer to rebuild with his own selections". Great. What draft picks is he using in 2010? As it is the Bears first pick is a 3rd rounder. They traded everything away already. It's bad. And Shanahan would be destorying hi own chances for success just to reunite with a QB. How much does Shanahan need Cutler? I say none. I say Shanahan made him. Shanahan made Plummer and Griese look like good QBs too.
Why would Shanahan go there? Especially with such an incompetent meddling GM?

So you don't see any potential to trade Forte? Just a thought.
