So far it looks like JMD made the correct call by trading our own #1 instead of CHI's. It's karma baby
The beatings will continue until morale improves....

This (2009 Bears) isn't my team. My team is a group of hard-hitting, smash-mouth, make-no-excuses blue-collar guys that go out and give it their best (which usually isn't very good).

This is becoming the Dallas Cowboys--a team that reflects the ego of their (in this case) GM. Except at least Jerry Jones knows something about the game, Angelo clearly doesn't. Cutler is the face of the franchise, and he's a whining, overrated prima donna. JA has mortgaged any future this team had for his own ego ("Hey, look who I got for us! Our problems are solved! I'm so smart!"

I saw this season coming. (In fact, I thought they'd lose to Seattle and Pitt, and except for 2 missed FGs each game, they would have.) I just couldn't stomach watching the team and media fawning over Cutler. When I saw what McD was putting together here, and bringing in Orton on top of it, I came back. (The Broncos used to be my 2nd favorite team, anyway.)

I'm so freakin' glad I did....

They traded their future (two 1st round picks and a 3rd round pick) for these stats...

                11 TD's 10 Int's 1,452 yards a QB rating of 82.9 and a 3-3 record through 6 games & the best part....

they "THREW IN" a QB for us who now has these stats...

9 TD's 1 Int (a hail marry which Randy Moss intercepted) 1,465 yards a QB rating of 100.1 and a 6-0 record through 6 games!! I would have said that quote too if I was a bears fan!

Don't get me wrong. I get what you mean, but, all the same. It's still rather dishonourable. I've seen my Ravens' change over the years and have bad seasons. I've stuck with them since the beginning - 13 years. I love the smash-smouth, all-in-your-face defense we used to have, but I'm not going to leave the team just because we don't have that anymore.

You know, even with some of the sucky years we've had, and all of the SB losses we had before we finally got some wins in the SB, I never could've imagined saying something like that. I'm hardly one to call anyone fairweather, but man, that's just sad. Heck, my father-in-law is a Eagles fan. No fans have it tougher in almost getting to the promised land and then getting let down hard than them, and they are hardcore.

It's so funny that this is how everything is turning out. The Bears were going to win the superbowl and the crappy Broncos were going to be lucky to win 4 games like the one previous poster said.

I just love that the Bears fans before the season started were saying stuff like....

"Cutler made your Oline look good"

"Cutler made Marshall and Royal good"

"Cutler wasn't the reason you lost the division he carried that team"

...HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Eat it Bears fans. He'll never learn to take sacks or throw it away to preserve the defense.

How can Orton play with the almost the same exact team in Chicago and put up better numbers all around? Time to wake up and realize the QB wasn't the problem. Turner and Lovie have no clue how to run an offense. Also I'll bet money Cutler wants nothing more that to throw it everydown and Lovie has given in to his demands and quit on their running game.

Seeing his misery makes life better. And yes I know that's sad but I hate his guts.

It's odd cause evertime we lost, thats the mentality I had. Now I get to fully root againt the Bears for that sole reason....and hatred for Cutler.

Well, how about this? I hope the Bears suffer badly this season so the Broncos (my favorite team) gets a good draft pick, JA (Jack A--, er Jerry Angelo) gets fired, and the Bears maybe trade Cutler for a QB I can get behind (or just go with Hanie, fergawdsake) and some draft picks to begin rebuilding. Seriously: for the long-term good of the franchise, I think they need to have a bad season and get rid of Angelo, Smith, et. al. If your captain's steering for the iceberg, he needs replacing.

I do still really, really hope the Bears can get through this and out the other side, but I don't see it happening with Angelo calling the shots and Cutler cemented in at QB. I supported them through many, many a bad QB. I did through the Rex years; he was a class guy, even though he often sucked on the field. But Cutler is Rex with a really really crappy attitude. I can't stand him.

So I guess I'm hoping for short term failure so they will clean house and I can have some hope again of longer term success. Does that make any sense?
