some ppl were very unfair to KO in TC and the pre-season.

They forget that he had just arrived here and was learning the playbook and the players on this team.

I find it funny people think Orton would have made the Bears even worse.

Because Orton did better with a WORSE offense. Not to mention half of 2008 he had a severe high ankle sprain.

So the logic fails. Orton did better. Though the two have done it in different ways. Orton realized he had to get rid of the ball within 3 seconds or die. Cutler has tried to use his mobility and arm strength to overcome a similar bad offense.

So I find this junk to be analysts protecting their self from more Cutler backlash. They must hide in the hypothetical in order to be proven frauds - "well if Orton was there they would be worse". BS!

At least he had an awesome O-Line and excellent WR's and TE's when he was here. His stats are still the same, when the defense holds their end he wins, when the suck and he has to constantly play catch-up, he sucks. Last season most of his int's were boneheaded, this year they're all out of desperation as to not get sacked and injured. Chicago neglected to get anything necessary to make him successful. They opted for Orlando Pace instead. And the last two weeks show the error in their ways. And the flip of that is you give Orton a #1 (screw yards, points against is what counts) defense, the best O-line in the league, and one of the best recv' corps in the NFL, he's just to field smart to lose that. So Kyle stepped into sunshine while Cutler stepped in poop!
Its an easy excuse for some ppl that its never Cutlers fault when they lose and its never Orton when we win.

The fact is that Cutler makes bonehead plays and throws the ball up for easy picks, thats just the way he's always been.

the sad part is that chicago can't do a whole lot to improve their team outside free agency. they don't have anyone in the system for depth purposes and they don't have their 1st-2nd rd picks for the 2010 draft
I don't know what their finances are like, but if we go into an uncapped year, they can just go on a mega spending spree if they have the cash.
Fire Rick Dennison - This Signature will stay until the worst playcaller in the NFL is gone.

He would have been benched for throwing interceptions. It never would have worked. NEVER. Orton gets lit up by the coach for throwing a bad pass. A BAD PASS. Despite Orton's 100 QB rating. What do you think he would do with Cutler, being Cutler? Don't bother answering because the coach traded him so he wouldn't have to deal with it.

Cutler would also change the dynamic of the defense. The defense is allowed to take risks because the offense doesn't get them in trouble. So the defense is allowed to run around like lunatics blitzing from every different direction risking getting burned. Cutler would screw the defense up in that regard.

We've seen what happens when the defense plays back on their heals and doesn't attack. The defense can look bad. But when they are aggressively attacking, it's a different animal.

I said many of his ints were boneheaded. But when he's not throwing over 27-29 times per game he's a better qb. When he gets in that 35+ range he's pretty bad. Look at the games where Forte actually decided to play and he threw 25 or less. I'm not pulling any blame off him, but what can you expect when he has no protection and zereo running game? That the difference between last years Bears and this years. Not Knox as someone pointed out. But like I said he stepped in Poop in leaving this team.

Seriously. He was the 16th rated QB in the NFL last year! He's even worse this year. He's not a proven winner.

Yet the media around the league was falling over themselves with how great he was. I think they saw Elway-like skills and fell in love.

Problem is, he doesn't have any of Elway's other good qualities.

Playing catch up is a poor excuse to throw interceptions and I've always stated that. The Packers game and the Falcons game they were in the whole game and he combined for 6 interceptions in those games. Just cause you throw more doesn't give you a reason to throw more picks. He just refuses to take sacks or throw the ball away. And until he figures that out he'll be average at best.

I think I'm actually starting to see what happened between Bowlen and McDaniels. McDaniels knew from the get go that Cutler was uncoachable, undiciplined, and nothing but a pile of talent. He talked to Bowlen from the moment they sat down for his interview about getting rid of Cutler and building a real team. Bowlen agreed from the start that Cutler was not conducive to winning. He saw from the first three years that Jay didn't have it mentally. He saw Jay walk around the facility like he owned the place and he hated it. When Josh came to town and uttered those same thoughts, Bowlen knew he hit the jackpot and dumped Cutler.

I bet Josh and Pat were sitting together laughing at everyone who thought that the Bears stole our 'franchise QB'. We got a better overall QB, AND two first round picks. Everyone was laughing at us. Bowlen has been laughing so hard he's added year to his life.
Thank you Mr. B for making the tough decision you knew was needed for the better of the organization.
Josh McDaniels is the single most impressive young coach I've ever seen in pro footballAnd kudos to both of you for seeing the true value of Kyle Orton. Now pay the man!:orton:
