  • Cromartie involved in Bar Fight

"According to law enforcement sources, Cromartie -- a Pro-Bowl defensive back -- was out celebrating the Chargers win at a local San Diego bar when somebody threw a champagne bottle which hit a bystander in the head.

Witnesses claim there was champagne being sprayed back and forth between Cromartie's party and other bar patrons -- until the mood changed and someone threw a bottle.

We're told the bystander had a cut on his head -- but no ambulance was called to the scene.

Law enforcement sources tell us 25-year-old Cromartie was identified as the bottle-thrower by at least one person -- but there are conflicting stories from other witnesses.

Cromartie was essential in the Chargers' 32-3 win over the Denver Broncos yesterday, raking in a key interception in the second half. "

"TMZ has learned San Diego Chargers star Antonio Cromartie is being investigated for assault with a deadly weapon over a bruising incident in a San Diego bar last night. "

UPDATE: Cromartie's agent, Gary Wichard, seems to be throwing Antonio's teammates under the bus, telling TMZ, "This is absolutely not a story. Antonio didn't throw the bottle. There were actually three other players involved. Antonio is at a complex working out. Again, this is not a story."

"Police confirm several Chargers at PB bar where there was fight last night. About to take off from Denver. Will update -- ka"

    LMAO wow.
    They never disappoint.
I'm not going to lie, they're a good team no matter how much I despise them. But why on earth would you create distractions like that when your team is on a roll?

Right now its still being investigated. Different witnesses have a lot of mixed stories. So until its completely confirmed and they got the facts straight, its just speculation. He hasn't been arrested. This shouldn't be a huge deal unless proven otherwise.

But, If for some reason he did happen to be the one to throw the bottle, Cro..... Tu sei stupido.
Thats just disappointing. I love Cro, but he knows better. They don't need outside distractions. Don't do that to your team

        LO Neal on onside kick:
"By not kicking that ball deep, you missed a big play on your special teams by Sproles, you took the ball out of Philip Rivers hands, which would have had a minute and something left, and also you took away an opportunity for Kaeding to redeem himself"

"It was times when we were getting so many penalties that I would look up and I was just like, "Is it not our time?" It was just one of those feelings."- Gates

Nothing will come of this. Same as the Merriman Tequila deal. Some how the Chargers always have a player who finds a way to step up and be a distraction late in the season.

In legal terms, Cromartie has a civil case against the thread starter.

He didn't learn the lesson the first time around in Denver-the incident that led to Darrent Williams shooting.

You would think the whole league would knock off the makin it rain crap after the D Will and Javon incidents.

Or just ban NFL players from carrying champagne bottles with the intent of spraying.

Marvin Lewis had a postgame speech where he said "be smart!" about 6 or 7 times in mid sentences. He knew that players can go wild in celebration.

I just heard that Acee went on Darren Smith Show, & something about according to his sources Cromartie will be charged and SDPD is certain Cromartie is the one who struck the "victim" with the bottle. Though I'm not sure Acee is a valuable source. If it is, then there goes Cromarties contract extension. Way to go! Why now? Can't he go home and celebrate with his kids instead of being at a bar in the middle of the night?

Some of these players need to take a lesson from LT, Rivers, and Gates. You don't ever see them getting in or around trouble with the law.

Though I'm not sure how reliable Acee is though. All he said was "sources", so nothings been really confirmed. Who knows.
