Rivers Most Hated NFL Player?

Every once in awhile I'll be watching highlights on youtube, in this case it was a Brees vs Rivers video... just wanted to know what Bronco fans think about some of these comments:

Thought it would be funny to respond to each comment, some of these guys probably are 12 year olds who think a Tight End is some kinda pervert joke.

"Brees can win with his arm alone, Rivers needs a running game to be successful..."

Really? That's why Rivers is 7-3 with the 32nd ranked rush offense?

"Smart one the reason why SD make to the playoff becuz they have better D then the saints."

Oh really? I'm a Charger fan, and our defense is embarrassing at times, they were ranked in the high 20's for the past 2 years, and have just now fell to a steel-curtain-ish 14th ranked total defense.

"Dude rivers relys on a great deffense not to mention he has LT and darren sproles. Ohh yeah gates, chambers, and jackson whos emerging as an elite reciever as targets. Drew brees has no recievers maybe colston (still not a top 15 wr). He has no running game and no offensive line. Now with that said he puts been putting better numbers up than rivers and manning. He has been the most productive QB in the league the last three years Period."

The Charger defense is far from great, and Drew Brees offense is not terrible, he was the least sacked QB last year while Rivers has been in the top 10 most sacked QB's.

"Rivers is no where near the talent Brees is. San Diego made the wrong move, but at the time it didn't seem that way."

Hmm, Brees has had only 1 playoff appearance since his departure from San Diego, while Rivers has lead his team to 3 straight playoff appearances. I think San Diego got the better end of the stick, that is if you are going for playoff contention rather than breaking passing records.

I doubt Rivers cares if his competition hates him. Everyone who has criticized Rivers must be either Jesus or they should be quiet and stop being a hypocrite.

Really? Brees has 100 times more playoff appearences than Rivers? 100 times more touchdowns? 100 times more superbowls rings? Oh wait, 0 multiplied by 100 is still 0...

I know the Saints fanbase multiplied after the Saints went 10-6 after hurricane Katrina, but there can't be this many Saints fans bashing Rivers, is Rivers the most hated NFL player?

Absolutely he is. I asked four people about him, one a rams fan, one a falcons fan, one a colts fan and the other a pts. None of them had any respect for his personality. He's an arrogant little twerp who got his come uppance in Qualcomm this year.

I respect he has some ability, but as far as people being of the opinion that he's one of the best QBs in the league is proposterous. He's 8th at most, and one day he'll end up little like prima-donnas that play Soccer in Britain. Run his mouth and get beaten the crap out of in a bar. He woulda been killed if he was in Scotland if he did what he does on the field lol.

Also PowderBlue your arguements are quite laughable, Chargers trump the Saints of recent memory in near enough every category except QB. Brees broke 5000 passing yards last season without a single 1000 yard receiver, and without Marquis Colston for some games.

Rivers hasn't "lead" this" team to anything yet. He's was a game manager when he had LT, and king of the screen pass and jump ball. I've watched him over 20 occasions, in full games, not once have I been impressed really.

Rivers is one of the best QBs in the NFL, but it doesn't change the fact that he's an arrogant, annoying piece of white trash..

I dunno about others, but Rivers is certainly my most hated player. Like others have said, he's obnoxious and cocky.

And while 100x is clearly hyperbole, I think 31/32 NFL fans would agree that Brees is better than Rivers.

I'm curious - as a Charger fan, can you honestly say that you like/respect Rivers as a person and not just a quarterback?

But fact remains, when he walks out onto that football field 99% of the NFL population will judge him on what he does out there. And so far he's trash talked and pouted his way into a bad reputation. Come on, he put up good numbers consistently last year and lost out on the pro-bowl! That's voted by fans and players, and the absolute reason he was snubbed was his reputation, because thats what people voting will base it on.

All I care about is him going out and completeing a lot of passes, for a lot of yards, a lot of touch downs, with a very little amount of mistakes.

Don't ask the fans of your division rivals wether or not they like your QB if you don't like the answer your gonna get then lol. He's not liked, and you don't play football to be liked, you play to win. He wins, thats all that matters.

I don't like him because he is a QB for another team in our division.

But most hated no.


1.) Tom Brady (The NFL golden boy)

2.) Ben Roethlisberger (I love how firefox suggests the spelling as cheese burger)

3.) Tony Romo (Don't like any cowboy)

4.) peyton Manning (Always manages to score 100 points against us )

5.) Philip Rivers (The only good QB in our division )
